The Cancer New Moon officially arrives at 1:54a PDT tomorrow, July 1st.

It arrives as another Solar Eclipse ( the third of three in this rare eclipse series).  The solar eclipse implies that for a short time, the Sun’s light is blocked by the Moon.  To interpret this literally, we are temporarily blinded to how our emotions impact the rest of our lives.  We’ll be expressing and acting upon our emotions ‘in the dark’, possibly unaware of how what we are saying and doing may affect our lives until the light of the Sun appears again.  In the Sun’s light, we’ll be able to see the impact of our emotionally-driven deeds. It may be the last of the rare eclipse trilogy of 2011…but it’s only the beginning of what may be the greatest emotional awakening of our time.

Cancer represents our foundational emotional energies.  Where Cancer falls in your personal astrology chart is where your emotional reality and truth is born.  It is often associated with your past in that your early (or earlier) life experiences and how they made you feel then often shape the emotional reality of your life now.  Incidents that occurred before now are likely dictating your present choices for your life.  You may be allowing ourselves to be vulnerable with your emotions and letting your guard down to let people into your life on an emotional level…or you may be emotionally protective, attempting to shield yourself or your loved ones from emotional pain.  On a global scale, we may be collectively awakening to how we feel about how we’ve gotten to this point as a society or as a world.  We may be looking at how we are nurtured and cared for by ourselves, each other, society, and the world.  We may also be looking at the opposite – how we are nurturing and caring for the world, our society, each other, and ourselves.

The phrase ‘emotional truth’ is of paramount importance in this New Moon cycle, as we are made aware of how we really feel about certain matters in our lives.  We are also made aware of how others really feel about certain matters in their lives.  With both the Sun and Mercury in Cancer as well as the Moon, it is a time of remarkable emotional honesty and openness.  Whether we are choosing to be vulnerable or protective, our actions (or lack thereof) will speak volumes to our true emotional states right now if our words don’t.  There will be a profound emotional impact us and others from our actions and words in these next 36 hours or so in 0% fullness of the Moon.

Though the emotional truths may be hidden in the darkness of the eclipse for a moment, it won’t be hidden for long.  The Light of the Cancer Sun will come after the eclipse. With Venus still in Gemini, there is an intellectualizing (and a possible duplicity) of emotions.  You may try to rationalize your choices or actions thinking that your emotional truth won’t be revealed or that if it is exposed, you’ll be able to talk your way out of whatever situation(s) you may find yourself in.  But don’t think that you are going to snow anyone over – the truth always comes to Light, the truth always prevails.  Any emotional dishonesty or pretense will be exposed for what it is.  Honesty is your best policy at this time as the reality will ultimately be known.  Be emotionally honest with yourself right now for if you are not honest with yourself, there is no way for you to be honest with anyone else.  Face your emotional truth now if you haven’t already.  If you choose not to be emotionally honest with yourself, let it be known that whatever it is that you are most in denial about is likely the matter in which reality will be revealed after the Cancer Solar Eclipse has elapsed.

Speaking of reality…with Mars and Jupiter in Taurus, now more than ever there is also a tangible and experiential reality element to emotional matters.  If you are inclined to “maybe” or “someday” thinking, you may be finding that it’s not cutting it emotionally for you as it may not be cutting it practically and tangibly for you.  If you do not have tangible results in an area of your life that is emotionally important to you or if you are not satisfied with the tangible experience or results in that area, you may find that you are no longer willing to commit your emotions to certain elements and aspects of your life.  What you see and/or what we get is the measure of what you are willing to invest in. (Keep this in mind if you are in sales or marketing as people are not going to be interested in what you have to offer if it is not clear and practical for them.  If you are having a tough time promoting your product or if people are leaving in droves, you may look at what you are offering or how you are offering it.  If it’s not tangible or practical for them, it won’t be worth it for them to invest in it, and trying to push or force them will only have them withdraw from you and your offering.)

This is a chance to press the emotional reset button – individually and collectively.  It is an opportunity for us to clear our emotional slates and reclaim our emotional truths, if we choose to be honest with ourselves about what we really feel and what we really want to feel and have in the experience of our lives. It has the potential to be an emotional rescue of sorts…if we choose to save ourselves from ourselves by facing, accepting, and dealing our emotional truths.

So make the most of this New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Cancer phase and the opportunity for a new emotional beginning that it brings. Until next post…

~ Light, Love, and Blessings,

Grace
