Mercury in Sagittarius turned direct on Tuesday, December 13th. During its retrograde, Mercury encouraged us to take a completely honest look at our thoughts, ideas, and communications to see what we were/are choosing to create in our lives. It also gave us a chance to go back and “do over” some of our communications with others or to recreate our thoughts and ideas about certain matters.
When I looked at my communications, thoughts, and ideas and considered what I was/am committed to creating in and for myself and my life, I realized that I needed to begin speaking the truth about how I felt and feel about certain aspects and elements of my life, especially around relationships of all kinds. I found that it really is true – “ask and you shall receive”, as things were happening even before I could get clear that I wanted them. It was almost like having your guardian angel(s) nearby fulfilling your wishes as you conceived the thoughts of them.
I experienced so many synchronicities during this Mercury Retrograde. There were times of running into people in public places that were completely unexpected. There were moments of people calling only minutes after they crossed my mind. There were times where plans came together at the last minute that had seemingly no way of doing so.
In one example of this, my friend Ray had been telling me all week about getting a group together to play Scrabble that coming Saturday. He said he had invited a bunch of people, and that we would make an afternoon or evening of it, but I never heard the details as the week went on. When I spoke with him Saturday morning, he was bummed because it seemed no one would be coming. He practically begged me to come, but I told him I didn’t want to make the trip down to his place unless I had a place to stay for the night so I could easily get to my day job the next morning.
It was about 10 minutes later that my friend Marie called and wanted to go to dinner at a place I had been craving to go to for a couple of weeks! She said it would also be okay for me to spend the night at her place to go to work from there the next morning. Perfect!
So I call Ray back to let him know I’d be coming over, thinking I’d be the only one there…only to find out one other person he had invited was also going to be coming. We ended up having three of us there at Ray’s place for Scrabble on Saturday afternoon, and we ended up having a good game and enjoying each other’s company.
Now moving direct, Mercury encourages us to communicate our newly discovered truths to others. Mercury in Sagittarius encourages us to get real with ourselves and others in ways that create a sense of freedom and openness between us.
It’s a chance to clear the air, to come clean, to tell the truth you’ve been longing to tell so that you can be free to share your experiences and set others free as well. When there are no pretenses and no lies to hide behind, everything said has power and everything learned has value. When speaking truth, words have the power to transform, heal and set free. When speaking truth, lessons learned bring the wisdom of experience to the fore.

Much of the introspective influence of Mercury in retrograde has subsided, but the effects of the recent retrograde and the turn to direct motion will continue to influence us as we continue on through this month of December 2011.
