It’s another eclipse for the 2013 Taurus Sun Cycle. This time, it’s a Annular Solar Eclipse along with the New Moon in Taurus on Thursday, May 9th, 2013, exact at 5:28p PDT. This is a very rare Solar Eclipse New Moon for a number of reasons.
For starters, Annular Solar Eclipses are also known as “Ring of Fire” eclipses because the Moon is eclipsing at such a far distance from the Earth that it will not cover the Sun completely. As it passes over the Sun, it will create what looks like a “Ring of Fire” around the Moon. This is a rare type of eclipse and important detail about this 2013 Taurus New Moon phase, as any tension that has been building over the last few weeks (if not, months) may finally find its release around this time. As you pass through this Taurus “Ring of Fire”, all that is unnecessary or out of alignment with the intentions that you have set can now be burned away, clearing the slate to make way for new beginnings.
What tension is it burning away? We’ll get there. But before we do, let’s look to the next unusual component of this 2013 Taurus New Moon phase.
Obviously, the Sun and the Moon are conjunct during any New Moon phase. But this time around, they are joined in conjunction by Mercury, Mars, and the South Node all in Taurus as well. What does it mean when these five entities are all transiting within conjunction aspect of each other in the sign of Taurus?
It means that a serious manifestation process is underway.
This is not your garden variety manifestation energy – this is some especially serious and powerful stuff. As previously stated in my blog posts over the last week, Mercury is your thoughts and words setting the agenda for what you are manifesting and Mars is your initiative and action – the actual taking of the steps to move things along. The Sun is the Light that shines and reveals Truth, yet with the eclipse, that Light is mostly obscured by the emotions and moodiness of the Moon. “The Ring of Fire” indicates that no matter how hard we may try to use emotional drama to keep the Light from shining (and exposing), the Truth will still find a way to burn through any façades or protections to make itself known. To that point, the thing that may be most important to consider during this 2013 Taurus Solar Eclipse New Moon is the involvement of the Moon’s nodal axis with this event.
The South Node of the Moon often represents what you’ve already accomplished on some level. In itself, it’s not challenging because on some level, you’re familiar with it – you’ve done things that way before. In Taurus, the South Node often indicates that your lifestyle resources were the focus of your life –the money and stuff you needed to sustain your lifestyle came fairly easily to you and you always had enough or you struggled to get them and often didn’t have enough. Either way, the South Node often indicates where your soul has already “been there and done that”.
This is an indicator that you’ve defined and your life by those elements and/or you’ve been putting your energy into them. But now, there’s a shift occurring – a very big shift. This is because while the transiting South Node is defining where we’ve collectively been, the transiting North Node is the call we are being asked to answer – it is where we are collectively being guided to go.When the North Node pulls, the South Node pushes, and the behavior that has been comfortable for us becomes increasingly difficult to continue.
With North Node in Scorpio, we are being asked to shift our focus from the tangible and material to the emotional and spiritual, but not just any emotional-spiritual – it’s asking all of us to get into the deep stuff, the dark stuff, those places that we really just don’t want to go. Those sealed boxes way back in the back of our closets. Yep. Those. That tension I mentioned earlier? It’s in there, hiding out. It’s our held-back truths and our pretenses that there’s nothing hidden or dark within us.
Now remember – the North Node in Scorpio is where we’re supposed to be going. But the Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Mars are conjunct with the South Node in Taurus!
This means that you’re about to find out exactly what needs to be revealed, dealt with, and changed within you if you are going to have the lifestyle you want. If you aren’t already taking yourself through this process, you now get to learn exactly what it’s going to take for you to manifest the life you want into tangible reality moving forward.
Collectively, under a Scorpio North Node, we no longer get to enjoy the financial-material-physical worldly rewards unless we do the hard internal spiritual-emotional-psychological work to earn them. Some of us will have very little of this work to do. Some of us are about to have a really intense experience.
A few of the changes will happen on physical or practical terms and have material, measurable results. However, most of the changes will need to happen internally. These could be changes in our collective values and perceptions about our material-physical-financial resources (on a cultural or societal level). On a personal level, these are likely to be changes in your own personal values about or perceptions of those types of resources and what they mean for you or to you in your life.
New Moons are always opportunities for new beginnings, but in this 2013 Taurus Solar Eclipse New Moon phase, you may be about to undergo a major death and rebirth cycle regarding your experience of your lifestyle and the financial, material, and physical resources that support it – a major transformation is about to be underway. This will be especially profound if any of your natal or progressed chart elements are in aspect to this especially dynamic configuration.
Due to the eclipse, the effects of this 2013 Taurus Solar Eclipse New Moon will be felt for approximately 6 months after this event. This is only the beginning of a process that could very well change your life.
Enjoy the ride of this Annular Solar Eclipse – New Moon in Taurus. Get clear about what you want for yourself and your life, then get clear about what it’s really going to take for you to bring it into the reality of your life. Then, start taking the steps. You’ve got it in you to do this.
