Mercury entered the water sign of Cancer early this morning at 12:07a PDT, moving Mercury out of the sign it rules into a sign where it’s not exactly comfortable.
Why isn’t Mercury comfortable in Cancer, the sign of “mommy energy”?
Because Mercury is a planet that works best when emotional nature of water isn’t involved. It has to slow down its usual brisk pace to take those emotions and feelings into consideration.
Mercury in Cancer has to factor in that it still has its inherent power to affect things through its thoughts and words. And after all of the creating done during its Gemini cycle, Mercury now has to make sure that everything it thinks, says, and does nurtures what it started.
This nurturing process is important because just like children or plants, while your thoughts and ideas are young, they require a great deal of care and handling before they are strong enough to survive on their own. They need to be fed/watered, they need to be spoken to with love and kindness, and most of all, they need to be given loving and caring affection and attention.
They need to be mothered, so you get to be “the mother” of your own ideas, thoughts, and words. If you’re reading this saying that you don’t know how to do that – well – this Mercury in Cancer phase gets to teach you how. Mercury in Cancer is your “mommy boot camp” in this regard. Get ready to learn a few things about how your thoughts and words about your thoughts and words really create your reality.
You see. It isn’t enough to think it or say it once and be done. Yes, there is an element of surrender to declaring what you are creating for yourself and your life. Yet after your grand declaration, you still need to nurture and support that declaration – you get to continue to think and speak as if your creation is growing and manifesting. You get to think and speak of your creative declaration as your child that you are nurturing and protecting so it can grow and be strong in its realization.
Throughout this process, you will get what you give.
Some of you may notice that you have a difficult time staying positive or supportive of your ideas. You may notice how you tend to complain about how hard things are after you chose a direction that you knew may be challenging yet you also know will lead you to a long-held dream. You may notice how you complain about how busy you are after you asked the Universe for more business or income. You may notice how you complain about the people who are interested in spending time with you after you declared that you wanted to find a companion or life partner.
Do you see how The Universe is giving you opportunities to have everything you wanted, yet you are turning away from your road to glory by complaining about it or speaking negatively of all that comes to you along the way? Then after you shut it all down, you complain even more that you never get what you want.
If you love to complain about your life more than you want what you ask for, you get more to complain about. If you love what you want more than you want to complain about your life, you get what you want.
Much like plants – if you stop watering them and/or don’t give them sunlight, they die. Or like children – if you consistently tell a child that they aren’t good or that they are a nuisance to you, and/or if you stop feeding them or attending to them, they become fearful, depressed, and they may even die. But if you love your plants and if you love your children, you don’t only give tham what they need to survive – you give them what they need to thrive.
Don’t let your creations die – let them THRIVE! Nurture them with positive thoughts, words, and actions. Protect them by surrounding yourself with positive energies and positive, supportive people. Treat them as if you really want them to come into your life and as if you really love them.
After all, if you are creating what you are creating so you can love your life even more, during Mercury in Cancer you’d best love the ideas and thoughts that you have about those creations, too.
What you love will grow. You’ll always get what you really love.
