Venus entered the sign of Aquarius at 1:03p on Wednesday 05 March 2014. This year, it comes into the sign as we are firmly in the midst of the Pisces Sun cycle with quite a bit of water energy in play generally speaking, making all of us a bit more sensitive to its presence than usual.
Venus in Aquarius also gives us a different perspective on partnerships as this can show up as “we” facing the community, or as “us against the world”, depending on the partnership involved.
Aquarius is a sign of individuality being expressed within the context of a group or community. It represents collaboration, in which unique individuals come together with other unique individuals to create a greater whole that does things bigger and/or better than any of them could have done alone.
Venus is the planet of beauty and balance, yet don’t blow it off as being “just a girl”. As the ruler of Libra, it can be very emotionally detached – objective and logical. Venus is not afraid to get its hands a bit dirty to make that balance or beauty happen, and is known to jump forcefully on the opposite side of the teeter-totter to balance things out if it feels things are off-kilter.
That said, because Venus is associated with both sides of a matter, it is also known as one of the representatives for one-on-one relationships and partnerships of all kinds. In this case of Venus in Aquarius, this usually brings forth one of the following scenarios:
- individuals who don’t like to be alone seeking partners within social circles or communities and/or individuals who join groups and communities to find partners
- couples or partnerships who enter groups and communities together because the individuals involved in relationship/partnership with each other either don’t like to do things alone or want to do everything together
Sometimes, when the partnership is healthy, two people may simply show up as the couple that makes it known to their associations that they are a partnership, a couple, together. They present a united front in all of their social and/or professional circles – they are a “we” in their community.
However, when the partnership is not healthy, it can be one or the other partner or maybe even both partners that perceives their community is against their being together or is at fault for their relationships challenges. This is when it becomes “us against the world”.
Yes, there may be times when a healthy partnership needs to take an “us against the world’ stance…but it’s rare. Usually a healthy partnership doesn’t carry insecurities or open emotional wounds to be exposed to and triggered by others like an unhealthy relationship would.
Whether or not you are in a partnership, Venus in Aquarius will help you notice how who you feel most connected to in your communities, social circles, and professional networks. You may also notice how you and your partner interact with each other and with others in those environments…if you even bring each other to those types of functions. Also notice how you each and both work the room and/or contribute to your communities when it comes to those same circles, and notice how you may go about it differently when your partner is present than you would if they weren’t.
One more possible manifestation of Venus in Aquarius: if you are not in or seeking partnership, you may notice that you are very sensitive to matters of fairness and justice within your social and/or professional circles. You may find yourself making efforts to be the peacemaker or the peacekeeper in your community, or at least becoming more conscious of those dilemmas over the next month that Venus will be in the sign of Aquarius (until 5 April 2014).
Thanks for reading and sharing Signs and Numbers. Until next post…
