The first day of the 2014 Scorpio Sun Period is a big one, as The Sun enters Scorpio (at 4:57a PDT), then Venus enters Scorpio (at 1:52p PDT), and then the Moon conjuncts the Sun in Scorpio to form the Scorpio New Moon (at 2:57p PDT)– all within 10 hours of each other on Thursday 23rd October 2014.
The New Moon at 0° thing will happen again next month in Sagittarius, too, and within an even smaller time frame. However, it won’t be as special as this Scorpio New Moon.
First of all – with Venus in the mix, this 2014 Scorpio New Moon has a “we” consciousness about it. There is a heightened awareness of partnerships as their own emotional entities and a call for emotional clarity within them that may not have been present before.
In this specific case of this first day of the 2014 Scorpio Sun Period, the Sun is you, Venus is the other, and the Moon is the emotional component that wasn’t intended to be part of the party but is making its appearance anyway. The actual partnerships themselves are revealed to be the emotional “third wheels” of what would normally be two-person or two-party companionships.
That said, Scorpio is what I consider to be the most vulnerable sign of the Zodiac which is why it has the reputation for being the most secretive, protective, and vengeful. It also has a reputation for being highly attractive to people despite the afore-mentioned qualities because of the power and influence its emotional-spiritual depth and intensity project. Scorpio doesn’t trust easily, and it digs beneath surface appearances to get to the bottom of people and things. It wants to know the “worst case scenario” of the people and situations it is considering involvement with before it commits. This is because commitment means letting its guard down, and Scorpio is not going to let its guard down until it feels prepared for the worst.
Once it feels prepared, Scorpio is willing to let its guard down completely, and it can be one of the most loving, passionate, and powerful connections you may ever have. This is important because it brings me to my second point.
This 2014 Scorpio New Moon has some secrets to bring to the table. That’s because a Partial Solar Eclipse also occurs during this Scorpio New Moon, and it’s an indicator that amidst the promises of transformative new beginnings, there are some mysteries to be uncovered. Not everything will be out in the open though it may be presented as if everything is being disclosed, and finding and revealing the whole truth will require delving into the depths of darkness with the Light of the Scorpio Sun to get to the bottom of what is really going on. With all of this energy locking in from the very start of this 2014 Scorpio Sun Period, it’s pretty likely that the next 4.5 weeks may be an emotional-spiritual investigation for the ages as Scorpio will perceive these withholdings, and no stone will be left unturned in making sure the hidden truths are revealed. As they are, decisions will be made about which partnerships are trustworthy and therefore survive, and which ones can’t be trusted and are killed off or simply left to fade away. Either way, Scorpio isn’t going to let its guard down until it knows.
This dance of hiding and seeking the truth of each person involved in the partnership AND hiding and seeking the truth of the emotional reality of the partnership may prove to be quite fascinating. Not only will people need to look at themselves and their partner, they will also need to assess the depth of the connection between them as its own entity to know where they truly stand. It’s an experience of Scorpio energy that is intense, profound, and could possibly be life-altering.
The ruling planet of Scorpio is Pluto, which continues its journey through Capricorn throughout this 2014 Scorpio Sun Period. Its power will be heightened due to the Scorpio Sun, and this could prove very interesting in matters of trust regarding societal structures and institutions. If they haven’t already happened, be prepared for some major shake-ups to the status quo in ways that may not be expected. People may take it upon themselves to make sure their personal freedoms and liberties remain intact or are freshly liberated, and such actions to assert personal power and responsibility may result in quite exciting and transformative experiences in the coming month.
The Partial Solar Eclipse in Scorpio, which is the final eclipse of 2014, begins at the exact moment Venus enters Scorpio at 1:52p; reaches its peak at 3:15p; and completes at 4:32p (all times PDT).
Looking forward to what events may come during the next 4.5 weeks under the Scorpio Sun…
