The “two” theme from my last post continues as overnight from 31st January to early this morning 1st February, we experienced two Cardinal Grand Square/Grand Cross configurations dancing with each other in what were literally the last throes of January 2015 and the first inklings of February 2015.
Both of these Grand Squares are lunar because they are formed by the transiting Cancer Moon. Both Grand Squares are also nodal because they involve the Nodal Axis which currently places the North Node in Libra and the South Node in Aries.
The first of the Grand Squares began at approximately 5:00p PST and completed at approximately 11:03p PST yesterday, 31st January 2015. It included the Cancer Moon, North Node in Libra, Ceres in Capricorn, and South Node in Aries. All components are in square or opposition angles to each other through applying or separating 3° orbs. There was tension being generated between these four elements which actually created stability, solidity, and security between the energies involved…or as least as much as there could be created considering the components.
In the case of this first Grand Square, “Mother Moon” is truly in all her maternal glory in her sign of rulership. Nurturing, caring, and protective energy abounds as the Moon travels through Cancer. This particular maternal expression is emotional in its origins, which is important to remember because the other Zodiac mother – Ceres – was also involved in this first Grand Square. In Capricorn, Ceres has a duty and responsibility to offer its physically-focused maternal provisions. I like to differentiate the two by explaining that Ceres is the mother who feeds and physically shelters and comforts you while the Moon is the mother who hugs and emotionally protects and comforts you – they both love and nurture, but in two very different ways.
Both of the afore-mentioned maternal energies were squared by the South Node in Aries, which assertively if not aggressively has you defending your own personal and individual (leadership) interests; and North Node in Libra, which may find you being called into one-on-one interactions to establish (or re-establish) justice, fairness, balance, and peace. When combined with the Moon and Ceres in the Grand Square configuration, there was tension created which challenged you to make sure you have what you physically, materially, financially, and emotionally need in order to live a lifestyle that meets your needs and supports your goals and ambitions. Therefore, as result of the influence of this first Grand Square, you have been asked to notice who and/or what truly takes care of you and to notice if your physical-material-financial needs are in a healthy balance with your emotional needs.
The second of the Grand Squares began at approximately 8:50p PST last night on 31st January 2015, and completed at approximately 4:08a PST on 1st February 2015. This second Cardinal Grand Square included the Cancer Moon, North Node in Libra, Pluto in Capricorn, and South Node conjunct Uranus in Aries. In this second configuration, Pluto brought a powerful transformational quality to the Nodes, the Moon, and to Uranus. Pluto empowers what works and clears out what doesn’t. Therefore, as result of the influence of this second Grand Square, any source of material, physical, or financial resource that doesn’t emotionally support or empower you to pursue and fulfill your goals or ambitions needs to be cleared; anything that does support or empower your goals and ambitions gets to be strengthened.
What made this second Grand Square even more profound is the involvement of Uranus in Aries. Uranus’ influence means that the revelations of these champions of or hindrances to your goals may have surprised you, and/or may revealed themselves to you in surprising ways. This is because you may have always assumed their support and encouragement of your pursuit of your goals, only to find out that they really don’t want to see you succeed…possibly because they need you more than you need them. The fact that Uranus is conjunct the South Node in Aries is especially important as it indicates a karmic element to this unexpected bond. This means that any support that is coming to you is either due to you on a karmic level in order to help you independently and individually achieve your goals; or needs to be severed by you on a karmic level because it’s rooted in co-dependency and intended to keep you away from your goals. This may be clear for you in the wake of this second Grand Square.
These two Grand Squares were simultaneously in effect from 8:50p until 11:03p PST on 31st January 2015 which meant that for about three hours, you were becoming aware of the loving and nurturing support and encouragement in your life and how it may actually be keeping you from accomplishing your goals and ambitions. It was a complicated dance between these two powerful and parallel configurations, only complicated by the fact that Ceres and Pluto are not within 3° conjunction orb…yet (not until 6th February). You may have noticed at first that you were/are drawn to and appreciative of certain opportunities because they may have seemed to give you everything you need…yet you may have realized a few hours later that the same opportunities to fulfill your survival and emotional needs may also be what keeps you from accomplishing your goals.
As result of this double Grand Square dynamic, there may be some very difficult choices ahead for you as you further recognize that what helps you sustain your present lifestyle may also be exactly what keeps you stuck in it.
That said, if the lifestyle you currently have is working for you in a healthy and positive way, great! These Cardinal Grand Squares may simply affirm your current path. However, if your current lifestyle is not working for you, you may find the during and after-effects of these Cardinal Grand Squares may help you figure out what you need in order to establish a solid foundation for the life you want to build and live, and will inspire you to take actions to get going on that path.
