At 3:58p PDT today, 30th June 2015, the asteroid Juno into the sign of Virgo.
Often referred to as the “marriage asteroid”, I’ve found that Juno addresses commitments of all kinds. The sign it is traveling through at any given time is where we tend to focus our commitment intentions and energies.
Virgo deals with the mundane, everyday elements of our lives. Its intentions are practical and purposeful, and doesn’t have much tolerance for anything or anyone that doesn’t fit into or align with the plans at hand or the systems in place. Virgo wants to heal what is wounded, fix what is broken, make functional what doesn’t function, and to give purpose to the pointless.
Juno in Virgo reveals a commitment to making our daily lives work in ways that gives purpose and meaning to what we do. Virgo inspires us to plan and do the real, actual, tangible work needed to fix, heal, and give purpose to our lives.
However, don’t think for a second that Virgo intends to take longer than it has to in order to do the work. Virgo is also a big fan of making things as efficient and effective as possible. It may do things the long way, but only to figure out a shorter, faster, better way to get to the same place. Virgos can figure out shortcuts for a lot of things, which is why Juno in Virgo is sure to be an interesting experience.
This newly (or reawakened) commitment to making the everyday of life work or work better than it did before brings each of us individually and collectively to a question:
How’s your life working for you?
This period is sure to bring up some assessment of your current life circumstances, and as you make this assessment, you’ll surely notice there is work to be done. There is always work to be done, but some matters are more extensive and challenging than others to deal with.
Some of you may find yourselves committed to finding ways around the work. You’ll want to shortcut it all from the get-go, and may be found seeking ways to make things easier on yourself or less painful or less labor-intensive. With Juno beginning its latest adventure into Virgo while both the Sun and Mars are in Cancer, there is likely to be a strong emotional component to this shift in focus, and you may find yourself either 1) doing your best to avoid any emotional challenges that may come up as you begin taking steps to bring function, health, and ease into your daily life routine; or 2) taking passionate and assertive (or aggressive) initiative to act upon your emotional truth. You may avoid working through what is broken and wounded and unsolved in order because you don’t want to feel the feelings or do the work to make your life work the way you want it to OR you may dive head first into physical confrontation in order to combat whatever or whomever is confronting for you emotionally. However, neither option counts as doing the work that needs to be done.
However, the work that needs to be done is rooted in self-awareness, self-reflection, and self-responsibility. Doing this work brings you to a place of emotional maturity which can help you in bringing practical effectiveness, efficiency, and ease into your life. When you’re not focused on emotional drama and ego, you can focus on what really matters – the work you do and the purpose you do it for. Purpose and practice are what makes your life easier. Doing more of the work with clear intention and diligence now is what helps you do less work later.
Yet those of you who are willing to do the work may find that though it may be difficult to go into the emotional confrontations you’ve feared most, once you’ve gone through, it’s not nearly as bad as you thought it might be. And once you’ve faced your fears, you’re that much closer to reaping the benefits of your hard work. Those who commit to doing the work to make their lives easier will do just that – make their lives easier. Those who avoid the commitment may find this to be a very difficult and challenging time as life just doesn’t work as easily as it “should”.
How do you make it easy?
You do the work – the practical and emotional work. You’ve got to be willing to go through the difficult stuff in order to take advantage of the easy stuff. Period.
Under the 2015 Cancer Sun, this will probably feel more personal/individual than collective. As the societal and institutional structures are transforming around us, each of us is now beginning to pay more attention to how these changes may affect our own lives and our ability to nurture, care for, and protect our emotional interests and investments. We want our lives to be fully functional in healthy and healing ways so that we’re in the best position to support ourselves and our loved ones with whatever is necessary for our everyday lives to work. The things that Virgo addresses can be boring to deal with, but they need to be addressed emotionally and practically.
Life may not always be exciting, but you’ve still got to make it work. That’s what Juno in Virgo is all about.
Juno will be in Virgo now through 26th September 2015.
Thanks for reading and sharing Signs and Numbers. Until next post…
