The Full Moon in Gemini is happening today, Wednesday 25th November at 2:44p PST. Here we have the Sagittarius Sun opposing the Gemini Moon.
While the Sun in Sagittarius loves seeking truth and wisdom of experience – the Moon in Gemini loves gathering information and asking why. In other words, the Sun is shining light on the all we have learned in our life and we are questioning our feelings about it.
A personal reflection to explain what I’m talking about: A little over a week ago I was feeling pretty solid with my sense of self. Then, I got confronted with some unresolved self-doubt issues. I was beginning to think my own life experiences was not enough wisdom for me to actually move forward with my life’s work. This brought up my own feelings not being “qualified or capable” enough in guiding people towards their own healing and awareness. In short, I figured that I needed to collect more data before moving forward in any way. This had me feeling stuck, frustrated and mentally overstimulated.

With the Sun in Sagittarius, the explorer of the zodiac wants to share all that is learned with everyone. Sag is excited about all things far & wide, philosophical and adventurous. It sets out in the world of discovery, intending to gain wisdom and teach others. With the Moon in Gemini, this chatty and student-like sign questions everything. There is an insatiable curiosity noted with the sign of Gemini. Mental energy rules Gemini, and being both observant and talkative (and sometimes lacking the worldly experience), premature conclusions can often be a result.
So how does this Sun and Moon opposition, play out this time of year?
Perhaps you know that you’ve gained a fair amount of knowledge, simply through your life experience. With this new sense of understanding, you feel ready to take some risks and step out in a new way. Then boom – emotions hit and you begin questioning everything, even yourself. You become eager to gather more information before making any moves, because somewhere in all that information – you hope some validation will arise. However, while you explore every scenario and investigate all the options, you will still ask “WHY” and/or “HOW”. This is Gemini like energy…it needs to know WHY and/or HOW. It’s intellectualizing and applying logic to feelings – which can leave you with more questions.
The Sun in Sagittarius encourages you to explore the truth of your emotions and you might not like that. This energy can be pushy and with Gemini still questioning everything, the outcomes can be frustrating. The teacher is trying to offer a lesson that the student is not yet grasping. Misunderstandings, feelings of being “in limbo” and flightiness can remain. Sag is saying, “find the truth in your experiences” and Gemini is saying ‘wait, I still have more questions.”
Now I know I haven’t painted the greatest picture here, but we are in a Full Moon phase and this is the time for release. Whatever questions you have coming up (regarding your emotional state) is signaling you to let those questions go. We’ve all developed ways in which we logically interact with our emotions – and with all that showing up now, you have an opportunity to work with the power of the moon and release those expired ways. We may never know the “why’s” and “how’s” things/situations occur in our life, but if anything, those “why’s and how’s” can serve as powerful lessons in non-attachment and accepting that we may not fully understand why things are they way they are. There is beauty in allowing things to remain within the mystery of “not knowing.”
This 2015 Gemini Full Moon is happening on a day when there is a lot of other planetary activity going on – activity which will be covered in detail in the next post. None of it will transit the Sun-Moon opposition, but be mindful that with all this planetary activity and energy, things will feel intense.
You are going to want to make sense of it all, so acknowledge that. However, work with this Gemini Full Moon in allowing the endings and closures that need to be in your life. The truth of your own life’s experience will illuminate something you’ve been questioning on the emotional level and you’ll need to let go of curious desire to gather information to get it clear in your mind. I encourage you to welcome non-attachment and compassion towards yourself and others during this time. It is quite possible that a bridge formed with the energies of Sagittarius (teacher) and Gemini (student), can actually reveal a powerful truth within yourself.
