This 2016 Leo New Moon brings an opportunity – an opportunity for each and all of us to begin a new way of expressing our individual selves creatively.
I think many of us have forgotten that we are creative beings, capable of creating anything we put our minds to. Yet there is so much more to do than to simply come up with an idea. We must also take action upon that idea, bringing the creative spark to life as a flame of passion, and using that fire to fuel the effort and energy needed to apply our material and intellectual resources to the birthing of something new and amazing in the world.
The 2016 Leo Full Moon reaches maximum phase at 1:44p PDT on Tuesday, 2nd August (10.96°). Here in the Western time zones, it’s under the influence of a 1 universal day numerologically speaking, which like the New Moon, encourages new beginnings and fresh starts! But about 14 hours before it makes its conjunction with the Leo 8 Sun…
…The Leo Moon is part of a Lunar T-Square configuration (3°). A bit before midnight, The Moon acts as the pivot of this fixed energy T-Square, squaring both Ceres in Taurus and Juno in Scorpio. This configuration reveals just how powerful our emotions can be, and how they affect each and all of us as we pursue creative self-expression in ways which challenge our collective lifestyle values and commitments to polarization. The Leo Moon calls for us to express ourselves authentically and creatively while Ceres in Taurus reminds us of our familiar path and position and encourages us to stay in our comfort zones and resist change, and Juno in Scorpio encourages us to declare our positions and stand firm in them no matter what because decisiveness is power and strength.
The problem on the Taurus Ceres end of the T-Square is that staying in our comfort zones is no longer serving us well, especially because our status quo is becoming untenable. It may be familiar, but it’s certainly NOT comfortable to remain in what we’ve tolerated any longer…yet people are trying desperately to cling to it rather than release it and allow transformation to occur. And the problem on the other Juno in Scorpio end is that even when proven false, invalid, or just plain wrong, people are refusing to give up on extreme positions they committed themselves to. They’re willing to go down with the ships they boarded because they’d rather stick with their clear and decisive positions than betray their chosen commitments.
That said, if you’ve been stuck or unwilling to make major changes to your circumstances, you may finally find yourself being forced to give up your comfort zone and/or your extreme stance to finally step into your most authentic and brilliant self-expression. And at a time you may perceive as one of your most difficult and confronting, you may not see this forced change as a necessary ‘death’. Yet, it is a death of an old way of being which must be cleared if you are going to experience an equally (or more) necessary rebirth.
Though this T-Square is short-lived (about 12 hours in total), there’s only a roughly 3-hour break before the Moon moves within 3° orb of the Leo 8 Sun, about 6 hours before the Full Moon is exact. The Leo 8 Sun is all about commanding attention, and as this New Moon energy builds, you may begin awakening to just how your unique creative self-expression can make a powerful impact upon and transformative difference in the lives of others. The call to be your unique self may become stronger and louder within you and around you.
Once the Full Moon is at maximum phase at 1:44p PDT, the Leo 8 Sun-Moon conjunction is square Black Moon Lilith in Scorpio, trine Saturn Retrograde in Sagittarius, and quincunx Pisces Neptune Retrograde.
The square with Scorpio Black Moon Lilith is one under which you may feel conflicted because you’re seeking a deeper emotional connection with others and you’d much rather build intimacy and trust. Yet try on the possibility that you need to build trust with yourself – that you get to learn how to trust your brilliance and creative instincts.
The trine with Sagittarius Saturn Retrograde is one under which you may find that after being forced to let go of all that was not authentic to your self-expression and out of alignment with your True self, you’re finally unstuck and moving forward. Saturn Retrograde in Sagittarius may finally provide the guidance and discipline you may have been looking for in order to help you develop trust in your creative instincts.
And the quincunx with Pisces Neptune Retrograde is one under which you may realize that once you begin fully allowing your creative brilliance to shine, you may no longer feel a need to play victim or martyr to others or to your circumstances and you’ll no longer feel a need to escape or withdraw from your own life! This won’t be a direct result. It’s more like a positive side effect of trusting yourself and recognizing the guidance being offered to you.
Like all major Moon phases, the effects of this 2016 Leo Full Moon will be felt now through the Aquarius Full Moon on 18th August…possibly beyond as this could mark a life-changing moment in time for you. Allow yourself to release and leave behind your old familiar confines, and step into an amazing new experience of yourself and your life through creative rebirth.
