I was texting with a friend this morning, and she mentioned yesterday’s “888” energy. I chuckled and let her know that it was actually “889” and that “888” was last year. We text messaged about a few other things which inspired me to write this blog post.
The “888” was intended to represent the 8th day in the 8th month of a numerological 8 universal year. The thing is…people didn’t really do their math and recycled articles from last year. 2016 is actually a 9 universal year (2+0+1+6 = 9), making yesterday an “889” day.
I think there’s a LOT of people who may have had very confusing experiences yesterday as result of this “mistaken identification”. Let’s look at why.
While 8 is a number of power, influence, transformation, and manifestation, it is also a number which represents control and manipulation. If you’re thinking it’s an “888” day, you’re thinking that it’s now time to take control of your destiny, to manifest your desires and intentions, to step into your personal power. It also would have been a 6 universal day (8+8+8 = 24; 2 + 4 = 6). It would have been a day to nurture whatever you’re wanting to empower and/or manifest in your life.
Yet 9 is a number of fulfillment, completions, and endings. It is also a number of focus, discipline, and authority. If you’re aware of it being an “889” day, you’re thinking that it’s a day for taking steps to empower yourself by completing your transformation process, releasing old patterns of control and manipulation, and possibly even releasing some desires or intentions which no longer serve you well and actually prove to distract you or obstruct you from the fulfillment of your destiny. It was also a 7 universal day (8+8+9 = 25; 2 + 5 = 7) – a day for reflection, rest, and relaxation before experiencing harvest or manifestation. It was less about taking action to assert your power externally and more about introspection and contemplation – tapping into the power within.
What I shared with my friend is my observation that many people are awakening to higher vibrations of energy – many people are being called upon to raise their awareness and to operate on a higher level of ethical, moral, and factual truth. This is very challenging for people, especially because their lives are structured in and around institutions, structures, beliefs, and practices which do not align with the higher vibrations they are being called to step into. They are finding themselves challenged to let go of what they always believed was right or true or correct – they are finding themselves being asked to let go of “the way it is” or “the way it’s always been”, and to open their minds and hearts to the way things are now and what they are becoming.
Things aren’t the same as they’ve been…and they’re still changing. They will never be the same again.
The struggles many of us are facing right now are due to the fact that many of us are trying to stay at our current vibrational levels and trying to maintain the status quo. We’re trying to hold onto realities which no longer ring true for us, and trying to continue doing things which no longer align with our emerging inner truths. We’re resisting changes, rejecting facts, and denying the shifts occurring around us.
Yet there are also those of us who recognize that things are changing. Humanity is evolving, and we are seeing and experiencing higher, transcendental truths. We are making efforts to change the status quo and rise above old beliefs of tribalism and competition and the fears which arise from those beliefs. We are also letting go of certain behaviors and practices which compromise our physical and mental-intellectual health and wellness. We are no longer willing to participate in things which do not align with our higher callings…
…and therein lies the rub.
In order to embrace the new system that is emerging, we must release the old system that is in place. Yep, the one we’re currently living in – that’s the one we get to let go of now. It’s no longer serving us well.
This is the result of the Pluto in Capricorn effect that we’ve been experiencing since 2008 and will continue to experience into 2023 – the collapse of the societal structures and institutions which were built out of fear and sustained upon the idea that bigger is better has now grown too big yet serves too few. Their collapse makes way for new power structures to emerge which attend to the masses. Speaking of those masses, the influence of Uranus in Aries also plays a role, representing the energy behind the public masses waking up to the fact that they have not reaped the rewards of the institutions that have reigned as the powers-that-be – some people are still in “group think” mode defending the popular opinion, while others are independent in their thoughts and making efforts to shift popular opinion, causing major social clashes. Saturn in Sagittarius’ presence is holding us responsible and accountable for our growth and expansion – if we aren’t taking steps aligned with our truth, we are being held back in our efforts to progress. We’re also being held responsible and accountable for any truths coming to light which may involve us. Neptune and Chiron in Pisces are helping us face and admit to the delusions we’ve escaped to in order to avoid the harsh realities of long-standing unhealed emotional, spiritual, and cultural wounds. Ceres and Juno in Scorpio are having us reassess our commitments and our personal values.
It’s a tumultuous time, but more so when we resist the changes which are occurring. If we embrace the changes and seek ways to navigate them to our individual benefit, we may find that we have more in common with others than it may seem on the surface. The key is to follow your own heart and follow the love. Fear and anger will only keep you stuck.
Celebrate the 9 in the “889”. Celebrate this 9 universal year by letting go of what no longer serves you today…on this 8 universal day (Tuesday 9th August 2016) in this 8 universal month. Letting go is what empowers you now.
