The Moon reaches its maximum Full Phase at 2:27a PDT on Thursday, 18th August 2016 in the sign of Aquarius, opposite the Leo 8 Sun (25.86°). This is not only a Full Moon – it is also a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse which gives it extra influence upon us at this critical time.

This Full Moon-Eclipse is also occurring on an 8 universal day numerologically speaking. This is the number of power and influence, only affirming the power of this 2016 Aquarius Full Moon.

This one’s going to have a lasting impact on all of us.

Let’s start with the basics. The Leo 8 Sun is shining its light encouraging each and all of us to bring our creative power and presence to light. As we do, each of us is beginning to experience our personal power in new and different ways – ways we may never have imagined. We are also learning about how we experience our personal power. For some of us, we may be having experiences of ourselves which are very different than anything we may have had before. Some of us may be learning to grow into our light and power. Some of us may be realizing just how much we can shine and how much we can share when we do. As we step into our power and realize what opens up, the positive results may be surprises for some of us.

We also have a Moon in Aquarius right now, bringing attention to our emotions and how we feel about our place(s) in our communities and in social environments as a whole. Questions about our roles, our inclusion, our community identification, our sense of belonging…they are all coming up right now. Many of these questions may be coming up for you as we experience this emotional energy, with you having some surprising emotional responses to your answers which may be equally unexpected for you.

But this 2016 Aquarius Full Moon brings up a few more questions which could make an especially and surprisingly potent impact at this time – one in particular:

How do you feel about the creative contribution(s) you are making to your world right now?

In the context of the Leo 8 Sun and the Aquarius Moon, is your creative power being powerfully seen and received by others? Are you being acknowledged for your creative self-expression? And are you making your community better for sharing your creative expression with the world? Are you seeing in others the change which you wish to see in the world…and are you being that change yourself?

This is only amplified by the fact that Aquarius’ ruling planet, Uranus, makes transits with both the Sun and the Moon during this 2016 Aquarius Full Moon period. Uranus Retrograde in Aries is in separating trine aspect to the Leo 8 Sun and is in separating sextile with the Aquarius Moon.

The Sun-Uranus Rx transit helps you shine your light so you can see whether you belong where you are or not. It can also assist in helping you recognize where you may best shine. You may realize at this time that your unique creative self-expression has a role or place in your environment that you never imagined it would. It may also reveal that you don’t have a place or role in which your creative expression can be received in positive or productive ways. This may come as a surprise for you, especially if you have been part of a particular group or community for a while now.

The Moon-Uranus Rx transit helps you emotionally recognize which of your communities accept you as you are – the ones you feel most positively emotionally included and received in. This is a great time for you to recognize which communities emotionally inspire and energize you…and which ones emotionally drain or exhaust you. You’ll want to consider leaving the ones which drain and exhaust you, and if that means leaving the ones you’re part of, this may be a message for you to make a major life change…and it may come as a surprise to you that you need to make such a change, and it could be either upsetting…or in some cases, liberating.

Liberation is really what this 2016 Aquarius Full Moon-Eclipse gets to be all about. And in this 9 universal year of completions and endings, you may find that instead of fighting to keep your place where you’ve been, it’s time for you to set yourself free of the communities and social circles you don’t have or no longer have a role or place in. By moving on, you can now find the ones in which you do have a role and a place – where you do get to belong. But moving on also requires that you allow yourself to be fully self-expressed. You can’t know where you truly belong if you’re afraid to be yourself fully expressed. Holding back is what got you into the communities and circles that didn’t work for you in the first place! It’s time to do this differently.

It’s also an opportunity for you to see that even when you think you’re striking out on your own, you’re not alone. By allowing yourself to break away from the communities, collaborations, and collectives which have held you back, you are free to find like-minded individuals with whom you can create new communities, collaborations, and collectives which are more aligned with each and all of you in authenticity and integrity – communities which support your brilliance, your growth, and the expansion of your creative power. New opportunities abound…but only if you’re willing to take the risk to break away from the associations and affiliations you’ve defined yourself by you for so long.

One other thing – as individuals claim their individuality, you will notice that collectively, humanity is claiming its independence from old community and social structures. More and more people are looking to redefine themselves as result of the energies opening up at this time.

You’ll feel the effects of this 2016 Aquarius Full Moon-Eclipse most intensely 12 hours before and 12 hours after it is most exact, but its impact will be felt for many months and possibly many years to follow. This really is a turning point for our collective consciousness – a moment when each of us realizes that we have individual power, and when we combine our power with the power of other individuals, we can create change in this world.
