I thought I was a little late jumping in on this one as this Saturn-Nodal Axis t-square configuration was most exact almost a week ago (at 1:05a PDT on 8th October 2016 – 12.19°). Yet, in talking with clients and people around me, I’m still surprised that so many of us are under its challenging effects. I must admit – I LOVE that this t-square effects are still with us…personally and collectively. Here’s why.
The South Node is in Pisces, the sign of transcendental Oneness. This is where effort is made to serve others with unconditional love and compassion. This is also where we can see how we may be attached to dreams and ideals rooted in the past – dreams and ideals which may no longer serve us well or which may no longer serve our higher good.
In the case of its square with Saturn in Sagittarius, the Pisces South Node may reveal where our dreams and ideals may be outdated or outgrown and instead of moving us forward, holding us back from the lives we aspire to live. It may also reveal where our perception of service to something Higher than ourselves may actually be sacrificing our own well-being by allowing others to take advantage of us or by encouraging us to play victim to others.
The North Node is in Virgo, the sign of purpose-driven pragmatism. This is where effort is made to bring healing and functionality to matters at hand. The Virgo North Node encourages you to do the work that needs to be done – to practice your ideals in your everyday life so you may move forward toward the fulfillment of your goals.
In the Virgo North Node’s square with Sagittarius Saturn, if you’re not doing the work to achieve your goals or if you’re applying little to no effort whatsoever, you may need to ask yourself if your goals ring true to you. What is missing for you that you’re not motivated or excited about making progress toward your goals? What is coming up for you where you aren’t eager to do the work that needs to be done to get where you want to be?
With Saturn in Sagittarius, this t-square is certain to bring up quite a few truths…and that’s the best part! The truths coming to the surface are truths which have likely held you back from achieving success or from accomplishing goals for a very long time. They are also truths you’ve probably tried desperately to avoid or deny for a long time. They’re ready to be dealt with…and they don’t really care if you’re ready to deal with them.
That’s in large part because Saturn has an authoritative presence which brings (or imposes) the focus and discipline needed to achieve our goals. Under Saturn in Sagittarius’ influence, any challenges you may be facing at this time are intended to assist you in finding your most authentic inner truth, focusing upon it, and aligning with it in every aspect and expression of yourself in your life. These truths (and the situations and people who deliver them) may seem overbearing and confrontational – just as many of us may experience the authority figures or father figures in our lives. Yet these situations and people are present in our lives at this time in order to challenge us to follow these truths and challenge us to do the work that needs to be done to in order to live them.
So, where specifically can you find your insights on what your authentic truth is for you at this point in your life’s journey?
For those of you who study or practice astrology, you’ll want to look at any planets, bodies, or points you have in your personal chart(s) in the 9-15° range. You’ll want to pay special attention to those in fire signs as they will be in conjunction or trine aspect to Saturn in Sagittarius, and their energies will be encouraged at this time. You’ll also want to look at any planets, bodies, or points in the same range in the signs of Gemini, Virgo, or Pisces as they’ll be in square or opposition, or conjunction to the Nodes and Saturn. These may occur as challenging energies or as energies coming forth to help you balance and focus you on your inner truth.
For those of you who are interested in astrology but do not study or practice it, you may want to someone who does study or practice astrology to draft your chart and provide you with these specific insights which may assist you in embracing your authentic self-expression and living your truth in the world as a daily practice.
Once you have these insights, the next point of business is to implement them. Apply them to your everyday life. The only way to balance your past with your future is to make the effort to face the hard truths and do the work you’re being guided to do in the present.
