For about 11 days now, we have been experiencing the power of a Mars+Pluto conjunction in the sign of Capricorn.
This conjunction has proven to be quite effective in doing damage to structures and institutions of power and influence. Capricorn represents our societal structures and standards which strongly influence our individual perceptions of success, achievement, and accomplishment, and it’s not a huge surprise that Mars (representing action, assertive, aggression, leadership, and anger) and Pluto (representing power, influence, transformation, destruction, empowerment) have come together to reap havoc upon those things and people who have perpetuated the belief in what has now been proven to be some unachievable goals within the confines of our current societal structure.
Conjunction transits result in the amplification or intensification of the energies being combined. Therefore, Mars conjunct Pluto could be interpreted as actions to empower. Yet, when confronted by institutions and structures of power which are determined to disempower others in order to empower themselves, those being disempowered have two choices – to resign and succumb…or to resist and fight.
Under the influence of the Libra and now Scorpio Sun energies, and under the initiative energy of a 1 universal month in a 9 universal year, many have chosen to resist and fight. They are taking the initiative in digging deeper, uncovering imbalances and inequalities and injustices, and taking actions to bring an end to whatever (and/or whomever) is perceived or proven as trying to take their power away. This is especially the case because Pluto’s “destructive tendencies” are encouraged by the 9 universal year energy, and Mars’ “aggressive tendencies” are encouraged by the 1 universal month energy.
In other words, this was the perfect combination to act as a wrecking ball, awakening and emboldening efforts to destroy whatever is revealed to be at the root of the disempowerment one – or all – may be experiencing.
This ‘seek and destroy’ mission has been happening on both the collective and personal levels.
Collectively speaking, we can see it in many of the events happening around the world as people have begun pushing back on the status quo, especially in their dealings with governments and corporations (societal structures). Personally speaking, we can see it as we deal with the areas of our lives in which we feel powerless or overpowered, especially in imbalanced/unequal partnerships.
The thing is…a good deal of our disempowerment feelings are not caused by what is outside or around us. They are caused by what we ourselves have chosen to believe and feel within ourselves. Our personal power truly comes from within, and in order to (re)claim it, we must apply the wrecking ball of this Mars-Pluto conjunction to destroy our destructive beliefs and perspectives, and to reprogram our own minds and actions to new emotional responses to our perspectives and experiences of what is happening around us.
We must tear down our own self-created walls and self-imposed limitations.
The potent energy of this Mars+Pluto conjunction in Capricorn was most exact at 4:22a PDT on Wednesday, 19th October 2016, has been felt 13th-24th October. It technically wraps up today (or at least by the standard of my 3° orb it ends today). However, with both planets in sextile aspect to Black Moon Lilith in Scorpio, Lilith bridges their increasing gap. As result, this energy will be very effective through Thursday the 27th as Lilith’s passion will not allow it to stop its determined efforts to get to the bottom of the bottom of things to satiate its emotional-intuitive suspicions.
So in these last few days of this energy, let’s make the most of it! Take some time to look within to seek out the beliefs and behaviors within you which keep you from accessing and applying your personal power in the world. Also look at where your power calls you to action, and take a step or two in that direction. This is about you reclaiming your power in your life, for yourself and your life.
Once you allow yourself to know and embrace your power and you begin to take action within your power that you find others who courageously are doing the same…
…and once you all come together, you’re unstoppable in making the changes you wish to see in your lives and in the world.
