After almost 3.5 months in retrograde motion, the dwarf planet Ceres shifted into direct motion at 4:27p PST on Friday, 9th December 2016 (21.13°). This now means that the focus on values shifts back to the values we individually hold first and foremost.
It also means the focus shifts back to the value we place in our individual selves and our self-identities.
The 2016-2017 Ceres Direct in Aries doesn’t only address your personally-held values – it also addresses YOUR personal value. This is also about the value of your actions, your identity…of YOU! During the retrograde, you had the opportunity to learn both how and how much your communities and social circles value you. Now through early February 2017, you have an opportunity to learn how much you value yourself. This is a great time to for you to notice where your contributions are appreciated and your presence is respected and to take action to position yourself into places where you are most valued and most valuable.
This direction change came at a pivotal time. Ceres in Aries was conjunct both Uranus Retrograde AND the Moon at the moment it changed direction, creating a stellium configuration and signaling an emotion-driven reclaiming of one’s personal value and personally-held values from the popular masses. In other words, at a time when pop culture and/or popular opinion is trying to get you to think or act in a certain way, you’re beginning to realize that you – the True you – may not really align with the trend(s) in your society or even within your closer-to-home communities or social circles. Ceres turning to direct motion may mark the beginning of your own private social rebellion through embracing what you value most about yourself and your life.

… in opposition to Jupiter in Libra, revealing the growing awareness of your personal values through your one-on-one interactions with other individuals. As the demand for equality, fairness, and justice increases, we each become increasingly aware of how balanced (or imbalanced) our personal values may actually be. Is what you believe to be best for you beneficial or detrimental to someone else? Is who you choose to be beneficial or detrimental to the lives and lifestyles of others? Is there a way to make things fair and balanced for everyone? And are you willing to be (temporarily) inconvenienced or uncomfortable in order to establish that compromise?
… sextile to Mars in Aquarius, meaning you’re being called upon to take actions to assert your unique place in and/or unique contribution(s) to your communities and the world in ways aligned with your own personal values, regardless of the values of those in your community. This is 1) in order to figure out just how aligned with your community you are, and 2) to make your value known to your community. Whether or not they will appreciate your value is to be determined, and it may result in you moving on to new communities in which your value is welcomed and appreciated.
… quincunx to Black Moon Lilith in Scorpio, revealing your gradual awakening to how your personal values may reflect your soul’s deepest emotional desire for clarity, definition, and trust…and may indirectly awaken you to how the values of others – as different as they may seem – may be just as rooted in them also seeking something definitive to place their trust in as well.
…and trine to the Sagittarius 3 Sun conjunct Saturn in Sagittarius, which is holding you accountable and responsible for your desire to grow and expand your life experience in alignment with your values. However, if your personal values are not in alignment with Truth, you may find yourself feeling held back or held down in some way. Don’t take it as the Universe being mean to you or punishing you – remember that this is a trine aspect! It’s probably the Universe trying to save you from yourself and/or a faulty value system. Consider why you’re being blocked or challenged rather than getting all fired up that you’re not able to proceed the way you want to. That’s where the value is…and you may move forward much more quickly than you ever imagined once you understand why you were being held back.
