Ceres entered its home sign of Taurus at 4:13p PST yesterday, Saturday 4th February 2017. In the process, Ceres shifted the focus of its values from independence and individual self-expression to what makes you – as an individual – feel comfortable, safe, and secure on the material-physical lifestyle level. Values are still important, but now, rather than fighting for them, you are seeking to establish them in the tangible and experiential reality of your life and secure them into place.
That said, you may notice yourself becoming a bit more aware of what you have and don’t have in regard to your material, physical, and financial resources. You may also be more aware of the areas of your life in which you feel at ease, and which areas you feel at odds. You may also recognize where you want more for yourself and your life…and where you may want less of what you have in certain aspects of your life.
In other words, it’s a time for taking inventory and for determining whether or not you have a lifestyle which supports your individual self-identity.
Taurus is the sign in which we figure out what you need on the physical and material levels to support the self-identity you created and initiated in the sign of Aries. These are your “lifestyle resources” – the food, shelter, clothing, etc.
Ceres is the “earth mother” – the dwarf planet which represents the “provisional mother” – the one who provides those lifestyle resources to you and for you. She is the mother who feeds you, gives you money, buys you clothes, and such.
With Ceres now in Taurus, you can be sure that you’ll be very aware of the lifestyle you’re living and how close (or far away) you are from actually living it in the next few weeks. You’ll also begin becoming aware of which changes need to be made in your life in order to manifest the lifestyle which supports your self-identity.
These physical-material changes may result in a necessary shift in your personal lifestyle values.
Maybe you realize that you need more than what you have in order to feel satisfied with your self-identity and your life.
Maybe you realize that you need less than what you have in order to feel satisfied with your self-identity and your life.
Or maybe you’ll realize that you always have just enough to be yourself.
Whether more, less, or just enough, realize that your needs, your desires, what you hold onto, and what you’re willing to let go of all reflect what you value most in your life. Over the next three months, be sure to give everything in your life acknowledgment, gratitude, and time to assess whether or not it still has a place or purpose to serve in materially and physically supporting your self-identity.
This assessment process will also have you recognizing where your values do and don’t align with your lifestyle. You may need to take some steps to either change your lifestyle so you can align your lifestyle with your values…or you may need to change some of your values so they may align with your lifestyle. Either way, this will be the time to make sure you align and stabilize/solidify your personal values with the life you’re actually living.
There is only one 2017 Ceres in Taurus transit of note in the remainder of the 2017 Aquarius Sun period:
- Taurus Ceres squares Aquarius Mercury, most exact on 7th February – Unconventional ideas and unusual collaborations may find themselves challenged by the differing value systems of the parties involved. The more their values differ, the more rigid they get in standing their ground and trying to get the other side to change to align with their perspective.
