There is an unusual degree of intellectual energy present throughout this 2017 Pisces Sun period, and Mercury is the reason why. Mercury will make a whopping 21 major transits during the 30-day Pisces Sun period, and 12 of those transits will occur while Mercury is in the sign of Pisces.
The 2017 Mercury in Pisces affords us all just over two weeks for our minds to best be able to understand why we are feeling the way we are feeling emotionally and spiritually right now, and for us to communicate our clear understanding to others. We will best be able to explain what we are experiencing at this time.
Pisces is a mutable water sign – the ultimate “go with the flow” sign. It is highly empathic, which makes it very sensitive to the emotions and energies of others as well as its own. For many Pisces natives, having Mercury in their sign is sometime difficult because it takes them out of their comfort zone of feeling everything. Yet Mercury in this sign can also help bring relief and release to emotional and empathic people by assisting them in better articulating what they are feeling.
That’s because Mercury – ruler of the sign of Gemini – is a strong intellectual influence. Fast thinking and fast talking, Mercury is also logical and objective which makes it rather emotionally detached as well. It gives anyone and anything strongly influenced by Pisces an opportunity to step back, breathe, and communicate its perspectives and positions clearly and with objectivity. But this brief period of telling people what we really think and how we really feel and sparking new beginnings doesn’t start off easily.
Mercury in Pisces’ first transit occurs about 15 hours after Mercury enters the sign of Pisces, and only 4 hours before Mercury makes its first official transit – a exact square with Black Moon Lilith in Sagittarius (1.43°) at 10:32a PST on 26th February – which indicates that a deep desire for truth to be known is at odds with what you may be communicating, and you may need to deal with challenging emotions that come up for you around having to face and speak truth. This is the first of the twelve transits for Mercury in Pisces within 16 days.
From that rough start, there’s an amazing opportunity for things to get exponentially better.
The next transit is a Pisces Mercury conjunction to the Pisces South Node, exact on 27th February (3.40°), which reveals the revelation of long-held emotional, intuitive, or spiritual wounds rooted in the past. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn how people are experiencing emotional-intuitive-spiritual pain, and what they would like to experience in order to have their wounds be healed. This Mercury-South Node conjunction is a gateway to healing…but only if people have their minds and hearts open to recognize it as such.
From there, Pisces Mercury makes a sextile transit with Capricorn Juno, exact on 1st March (7.83°). Here, Mercury helps us focus our emotional and intuitive energies on a clearly-defined goal, then commits us to that goal for the long haul…and only 18 minutes later, Pisces Mercury makes another exact sextile with Taurus Ceres (7.86°), helping us both see how our lifestyles are created by our thoughts and words, and how the lifestyle we have is the result of our thinking and speaking. If we don’t like the way we are living, we get to start thinking and speaking differently in order to manifesting a different experience and reality of our lives.
These three bodies – Capricorn Juno, Pisces Mercury, and Taurus Ceres – form a Wedge configuration with Mercury in Pisces at the center, revealing the opportunity for us to use our emotionally and intuitively enhanced thoughts and words to declare a commitment to manifesting/realizing a lifestyle which reflects our personal values and provides us with the resources to create and sustain it.
It’s crucial that you understand your thoughts and words really do have power, and they’ll have a LOT more power than usual in these next few days because of the emotional-intuitive-spiritual energy behind them (thanks to Pisces’ influence). There is amazing power in not only saying what you feel, but also in allowing yourself to feel the emotions behind what you choose to say. This feeling of emotion allows your words to be authentic – it allows you to truly be known because you are allowing your inner truth to be revealed through communication. Whether you write, speak, sing, dance, paint…whatever. Use this power wisely and powerfully and beautifully to plant the seeds for a new experience of yourself and your life.
