The Sagittarius Full Moon reaches maximum phase at 6:10a PDT on Friday, 9th June 2017 (18.88°). This Full Moon is the culmination of the creative energy initiated during the Gemini New Moon on 25th May.
Sagittarius brings us opportunities for growth and expansion. As the sign of this month’s Full Moon, it brings opportunities for personal and collective emotional growth, and opportunities to expand upon the experience of feeling our lives. This is a big deal as we embark upon the expansion of our lives in a big way from this point forward.
This 2017 Sagittarius Full Moon is reflecting the light of a Gemini 7 Sun. This means that we are in a 7 universal month of logic, reason, and intellect while the light of awareness is being generated by an air sign representing intellect, learning, and exchanges of information. Gemini, as the child or student energy of the Zodiac, is of significant importance at this time because it means that we’re being encouraged to learn right now on both the individual and collective levels of our human experience. Our learning not only comes through our direct interactions and exchanges with others – it also comes through the emotions we experience as the Sagittarius Moon’s reflects our information exchanges back to us. We can be sure to receive what we’ve asked for at this time, though it may not come exactly as we expected or hoped. In fact, for many of us, it may come forth as more than we could have ever expected or hoped for.
Because we may get what we want in unexpected ways, we may need some time to process the information and/or experience. That’s where the 7 universal day energy comes in and amplifies the 7 month energy. This day is heavy on the thinking because there will be a LOT of information to sort and process intellectually. It will be up to us to make sure we give ourselves the time and space to come to terms with all the information being made available to us at this time – information that is chock full of factual truths which we can apply to the creation of new beginnings in any and all areas of our lives under the banner of the 1 universal year.
This 2017 Sagittarius Full Moon is giving us an opportunity to learn truths about ourselves and truths about each other, both individually and collectively. Truth is the ultimate prize at this time and factual information is valued beyond measure, confirmed by Ceres – the dwarf planet representing our physical-material lifestyle resources and values – in Gemini within 3° conjunction orb of the Gemini 7 Sun, opposite the Sagittarius Moon. This reveals the growth and expansion potential available to you if you are willing to acknowledge and learn the factual information being made available to you now.
The Gemini 7 Sun-Ceres conjunction also makes an exact quincunx aspect to Capricorn Pluto Retrograde at 4:56p PDT on this day, and we realize that the facts and values coming to light may not necessarily be in alignment with what is expected of the societal powers-that-be. A semi-sextile transit between the Sag Moon and Cap Pluto Retrograde holds emotional truths leading to a new perspective of power and who (should) be wielding it now. A second quincunx (not exact and separating on this day) exists between Gemini Ceres and Capricorn Juno Retrograde, revealing a decreasing yet noticeable misalignment of lifestyle values and one’s commitment to certain societal objectives. You’ll recognize where you’re out of alignment quickly, though it may be a bit painful to have the realization.
That said, there’s more benefit than challenge on this Full Moon day, and the overarching energy of growth and expansion present at this time is only enhanced by the fact that Jupiter – the ruling planet of Sagittarius – returns to direct motion in the sign of Libra only 52 minutes after the Full Moon’s maximum phase (13.22° at 7:02a PDT). Jupiter is literally making its U-turn as the Moon reaches maximum phase, bringing a much-needed dose of positive energy to those who have been doing the work to bring balance, fairness, and justice into the matters of their lives…yet it could also bring an unavoidable avalanche of truth to those who have not done their work to face any imbalances and injustices present in their interactions and relationships of all kinds.
Libra Jupiter is also within sextile aspect of Sagittarius Black Moon Lilith (12.95°) at the time of maximum phase. This reveals the potent impression the principles of balance, fairness, and justice can make upon the collective desire for truth present at this time. It’s not just about learning the truth for truth’s sake – it’s about using the truths revealed in order to affect positive change in how we each and all relate to each other, one person or one relationship at a time. Yet Lilith is also square Pisces Neptune (14.25°), and this presents quite a challenge as the truths emerging may not align with our emotional, spiritual, and/or collective ideals, and with these two transits resulting in Jupiter being quincunx Neptune, this brings the challenge of attempting to align our objective principles of justice, fairness, and equity with our subjective spiritual and emotional investment in our ideals. The one which will reign supreme will be determined by the individuals affected, and at this time, it seems those who are in the objective logic space will have an easier time navigating these energies than those in the subjective emotional space.
Lilith also makes a semi-sextile to Capricorn Juno Retrograde (15.79°), meaning that in order to fulfill our collective soul’s deepest desire is clarified, a goal must be set. There needs to be an objective to work toward, and the double 7 energy of this Full Moon day gives you time to clarify your objective.
But that’s not all.
This is also another day of what continues to be a powerful Fire Nodal Grand Trine-Kite over the last few weeks involving Uranus in Aries, the Leo North Node, Sagittarius Saturn Retrograde, and the Aquarius South Node. This configuration has pointed us toward recognition of the communities which are no longer serving us AND/OR which we may no longer be serving well or in positive ways. This already powerful dynamic is amplified later in the day when the Sagittarius Moon progresses to make a conjunction with Saturn Retrograde, bringing our emotions to full boil in any areas where we may recognize what has been holding us back from achieving our goals and objectives. This could be the emotional breakdown we have needed to have for a long time….which could also lead to the emotional breakthrough moment we’ve been waiting for.
One more transit of note: Venus in Taurus makes sextile aspect to Mars in Cancer, most exact at 8:41a PDT on this Full Moon day. This is an interesting combo in that 1-on-1 interactions of all kinds are likely to have a very transactional feel to them – especially those regarding the acquisition or sustenance of lifestyle resource matters – all while actions and activities will be emotion-driven and focused on home, family, and/or other personal investments of emotional investment. In other words, resource partnerships give tangible support to emotional actions.
The 2017 Sagittarius Full Moon is a time of great potential for growth, a wonderful time for gaining wisdom of experience, and an opportunity to experience a breakthrough long in the making. As long as we have our minds, eyes, and ears open for receiving information and our patience in allowing the information to process, this could be an expansive breakthrough moment for quite a few people.
The powerful effects of this 2017 Sagittarius Full Moon will be felt from 6th June through 12th June.
