Hello everyone,
I just wanted to send out a quick message to check in with all of you.
Blog posts specifically about Ceres in Leo, Pluto Direct in Capricorn, Mercury in Libra, and the upcoming Aries Full Moon are coming soon. Yet I wanted to address something else.
Change.
Change is the only constant in life and in the Universe. We happen to be in the midst of extraordinarily rapid change, and many of us are trying to figure out how to navigate our lives let alone the rest of the world around us as so much seems to be in flux.
As much as we’d like to believe we are open to change, we aren’t. Most humans aren’t. We are open to change as long as we can remain in our comfort zones – as long as our own lives don’t have to change; as long as everyone else has to change for us to keep our familiar and comfortable personal conditions.
But change doesn’t work that way. Especially now.
Change is affecting ALL of us, and there’s no better or worse about it. It just is.
I ask you to consider that the changes occurring now are because we are all being asked to step outside of what is familiar and comfortable and easy in our lives in order to step into a higher calling of service.
And in wanting changes to occur in the world, it doesn’t mean that everything and everyone around you changes for your convenience. When change occurs, it affects ALL of us… and ALL includes YOU.
When there are such events as those happening in the world right now – massive natural disasters (hurricanes, typhoons, floods, earthquakes), mass shootings by domestic terrorists (most recently in Las Vegas, NV, USA), communities and people fighting for their civil and human rights and/or their independence (the Rohingya, the Kurds, Catalonia, etc.) – we are being challenged to rise up from the destruction that can overwhelm us and rise above the petty arguments which can divide us. We are being called to adapt to change – to come together in both loving and practical service to one another; to heal the wounds with acts of kindness and pragmatism. These acts can be actual physical or demonstrative acts such as providing rescue and bringing needed supplies, voting, or even being in direct communication with those who can affect change. These acts can also be acts of emotional and spiritual support – listening to one another’s points of view, holding each other’s hands or holding each other in embrace while we grieve, and encouraging each other in the face of challenge or darkness.
Yet as we are being called to serve, many of us are also experiencing our own personal challenges – facing internal crises of identity. As the world changes around us, we are beginning to realize that much of what we’ve always believed our individual selves to be is in question or no longer valid. What we valued or prioritized no longer seems valuable or a priority… and much of what we took for granted had/has much more value to us than we realized.
What many of us have taken most for granted have been our own unique talents, abilities, and skills as we’ve underestimated the difference each of us as individuals can make in the world simply by being all of who we are fully expressed in the world. Any dissatisfaction we’ve been experiencing in our jobs, our lifestyles, our environments, our systems and structures – all because we are realizing that they aren’t what we thought they were… or maybe more accurate, that we ourselves aren’t who we thought we were.
Now is a time for you to consider that the changes you’re going through are the changes you must go through in order to answer the call of higher service to this world in your own life and in your own unique way. Now is the time for you to step into a greater role in the world, not only for others, but also for yourself.
First of all, if you’re feeling unheard or unloved right now, check in with yourself.
- Are YOU hearing yourself?
- Are YOU loving yourself?
- Are YOU giving yourself what you need, or are you looking to everyone else to give it to you?
- Are YOU being who you want others to be?
Because you can’t ask others to do what you are unwilling to do for yourself. This is no time for comparing who has it better or worse. This is no time for being a martyr or a sacrificial lamb. This is no time for playing victim to others. This is no time for playing dumb or playing small.
This is the time to honor the actual victims and heal the living by stepping up your game by living your life full-out and full-on. This is the time for you to take responsibility for who you are choosing to be in your life and in the world.
“You must be the change you want to see in the world.” – Mahatma Gandhi
NOW is the time to be the change you want to see in the world.
Yes, there will be losses. There will be endings. There will be changes…
…yet kindness, beauty, peace, and love can emerge from them if YOU choose to bring those qualities into the world through your choices and actions in the everyday actions of YOUR own life.
You can’t control the changes, but you can choose how you respond to the changes.
What you can control are YOUR choices, and ONLY your choices… and those choices are up to you.
How are you choosing to be the change that you want to see in the world? Think about that today, and every day forward. Because now it’s time to “be the change”.
Thank you for reading and sharing Signs and Numbers. Until next post…
