With Mars having entered the sign of Scorpio at 12:59a PST on 9th December 2017, decisive actions with deeply emotional motives became the driving force of our individual and collective actions. Emotional motives will continue to be the driving force behind our actions over the next few weeks. These actions will reveal people’s true motives – including the ones they may think they’re hiding. And in doing so, these actions will also reveal that there’s more to what is happening than meets the eye.
Scorpio tends to pride itself in being stealthy. It doesn’t like to put itself on display unless it has an intention of getting or putting itself in a position of power and influence, OR unless it has an intention of getting its revenge on someone or something.
Mars is all about initiative action. It is impulsive and active, but more often reactive. Its initiative makes it a natural leader, yet its impulsive and sometimes explosive tendencies can make Mars a difficult leader to follow over time.
Together, these energies come together to create either a bold and confident (and possibly explosive) emotional expression due to its proactive need to exact its leadership (or its revenge), OR they come together to take emotion-driven actions taken in secret. Under the current circumstances, I see both expressions playing out.
I’d go as far as to say that we will see more than a few people in our personal and collective environments boldly expressing themselves as a way of distracting others from actions being taken to hide their deep emotional secrets or to hide the origins of their secret emotion-driven motives. They may seem confident, but in reality, that bravado may be hiding some very deep and very dark depths.
This isn’t to say that everyone hiding things is doing something bad or wrong. In fact, sometimes, people are hiding things because they are extremely emotionally vulnerable – they are that challenged in letting their emotional guard down. This energy can be difficult for people who aren’t used to putting their emotional reactions on public display as being called to action can often clash with an emotional desire or urge to defend oneself from threat or ridicule.
It is to say that with so much secrecy abound (for a number of different people for a number of different reasons), it’s likely that under the influence of this 2017-2018 Mars in Scorpio, there are things that are being kept secret in order to maintain the emotional safety and security of those directly involved… and possibly, others indirectly involved in the matters at hand.
Under the influence of Mars in Scorpio, emotions are likely the driving force for both impulsive and heated (re)actions, or patient responsive actions.
Mars is rather quiet on the transit front for the remainder of 2017. In fact, there is only one major transit – a trine with Neptune in Pisces which is most exact on 28th December 2017. Those of us who are emotionally invested in our ideals and dreams may find (or give ourselves) ways to move those ideals forward… or at least give them an opportunity to reach as many people as possible on a deeper, more profound and transformative level . This could be a powerful emotional and/or spiritual healing moment for some, while it could also be a moment of deep emotional vulnerability for others.
Mars will be in the sign of Scorpio now through 26th January 2018, and looks as though it will be initiating far more action in all areas and aspects of our lives in January 2018.
