2018 is a numerological 11 universal year (2 + 0 + 1 + 8 = 11). In an 11 year, we are each being called to step into our leadership- to be leaders for ourselves and our own lives as a means of awakening and inspiring and encouraging others to be leaders for themselves in their own lives.

Eleven is a number of individual contributions to community as well as opportunities to benefit from the unique contributions of other individuals to you through community. Therefore, the leadership highlighted here isn’t about being THE leader – it’s about being A leader who inspires other individuals to be leaders in their own right. It is not intended to be competitive over who is stepping into what leadership role(s) – it is meant to enable and allow each individual to shine and share the collective responsibility of making community (and possibly even humanity) more encouraging and evolutionary for all.

2018 will be a year in which the “weakest link” theory could definitely be applied – the idea that a group or community is only as strong as its weakest link. However, this analogy is not intended in a demeaning way. The idea is to encourage everyone in the group to be their strongest, most brilliant expressions of themselves – to step into their role as part of the jigsaw puzzle of humanity in which everyone has a contribution to make and a place and a purpose to fulfill.

Intimidation and bullying rarely encourage the confidence needed for individuals to step up. Competition can sometimes bring it forth, but again – if the point of the competition is to prove one’s superiority or supremacy over another, the positive purpose is defeated. When competition is used as a way of bringing attention to how individuals can showcase their talents and abilities or how they can develop their unique abilities, talents, and skills, there is an amazing way for all of us to shine.

When a master number energy is not embraced, it often results in the challenging characteristics of the reduced number. Those who cannot live into the collaborative leadership energy of 11 will likely embrace the challenging qualities of 2 energy. You’ll be able to recognize these individuals and institutions by their determination to form emotional bonds with others which are clingy and/or dependent. They may also apply great effort and energy to maintaining conditions of polarity and duality in matters at hand – determined to keep battles of good vs. evil, us vs. them, and such going strong. These people may find it increasingly difficult to get others to buy into their either or view of the world, and may become increasingly hostile or angry as result, trying to force others to see things their way…

…only to learn that their world view that is losing its validity with others. That’s because humanity is evolving beyond these simplistic divisions and fights, and those who cannot accept that may find themselves fighting a tough, violent, yet losing battle. This year will feel like the beginning of polarity’s last gasp – a year in which people realize that there is room for everyone, even if they don’t like that reality.

Despite of, or maybe as result of such determined efforts to keep people in darkness, 2018 is a year in which each and all of us will have opportunities to awaken to our brilliance. We each and all have the ability to shine brightly in our own unique ways – the question is… will we each find the courage to let our unique expressions of light be seen?

There’s only one way to find out. Live each day to your fullest. Let yourself be seen for all that you are and can be. Open yourself to be seen and known, and allow yourself to see and know others fully as well.

2018 is an opportunity for each and all of us to see ourselves in our best possible light. Yet it’s also a year for us to see each other in our most authentic light. Let’s hope that light will reveal and promote the compassion and love in our hearts in the year ahead and for many years to come.
