The 2023 Gemini Full Moon reaches its maximum phase at 1:16a PST on Monday 27th November 2023 at 4°51’. This is the second-to-last Full Moon phase of 2023, with the last one being the Cancer Full Moon on 26th December 2023. Yet don’t let the fact that this is the penultimate Full Moon fool you – this one has noteworthy power, and will make a significant impact on how the remainder of 2023 will play out for each and all of us.
Gemini is mutable air energy, which gives us the gift of intellectual flexibility. That may not seem like a gift to some who prize unwavering mental decisiveness and commitment above all else. Yet the Gemini Full Moon doesn’t intend to be “wishy-washy” – it asks questions and seeks information in order to confirm whether or not its thoughts and beliefs are true. Gemini is the child’s mind – always eager to learn more, to better understand, to consider all possibilities, to question ‘what is’ in order to confirm it or change it.
Of course, the information Gemini collects isn’t always true, and this 2023 Gemini Full Moon is likely to be a moment of truth for all of us. If this moment reveals that your actions aren’t aligned with your values, don’t beat yourself up! This is an opportunity to course correct and get yourself aligned with what you truly value… or at least to recognize that what you say your values are (in thought) may not actually be your values (in action).
This Full Moon phase is a textbook example of the Gemini-Sagittarius dynamic. Gemini, with its child/student mind, is eager to learn. It asks questions – lots of them – in order to formulate its personal theories and beliefs about how the world works and their individual place in that world. However, Sagittarius is the wise, experienced teacher mind who keeps an open mind to how these theories may play out in reality. Sagittarius also brings an energy of “been there and done that”, or the presence of someone who’s at least willing to take Gemini’s theories and test them out in the “real world”. That’s because at its core, Sagittarius seeks truth above all else, and understands that the truth cannot truly be known until it’s tried and practiced to confirm its validity.
This 2023 Gemini Full Moon brings a long sought-after resolution of many inquiries or mysteries you may have had over the last few days, weeks, months, and possibly years… as the light of the Sagittarius shines to let Gemini know what’s real and true, and what’s not and needs to be let go of. This is especially the case because 1) this Full Moon phase represent culminations of the energies begun under the 2023 Scorpio New Moon phase two weeks prior; and 2) this 2023 Gemini Full Moon’s maximum phase occurs, numerologically, on a 9 Universal Day in the waning days of a 9 Universal Month, giving profound emphasis to fulfillments, completions, closures, and endings of all kinds; giving us an opportunity to discover how aligned with ourselves we really are, and providing us with opportunities to bring false or erroneous beliefs and outdated self-defeating patterns of behavior, to a close in our lives, once and for all.
That this is all occurring under the influence of a 7 Universal Year of intellect, analysis, reflection, reassessment, and regrouping only affirms that this moment holds great transformative power, opening possibilities for individuals to shift their thinking, speaking, and actions in ways which truly reflect shifts in both self-consciousness and collective consciousness.
We would be wise to remember that the light of the Sagittarius Sun is being reflected by that Gemini Moon… and, also, to note that we’re still experiencing six planets and points in retrograde motion – Jupiter, Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, Eris, and Black Moon Lilith. These reflection themes are significant only because our experience of the world is more likely to be “outside-in” rather than “inside-out” under this 2023 Gemini Full Moon, forcing us to not only respond intellectually to what is happening in the world around us, but also to allow ourselves to recognize how we feel and how we’re responding emotionally to the information we’re receiving. Once you understand the freedom available to you as result of learning and knowing the actual, factual truth about the matters in and around your life, you’ll begin to make the necessary changes and take the necessary steps in order to align yourself with what you now know to be honest, earnest, authentic, and most importantly, true about yourself and the life and lifestyle you choose to live. You may even learn and begin to understand why others are making the choices they’re making and/or come to understand what some people are really saying and/or how they’re showing what they truly stand for.
