Pluto will be entering Aquarius for the third time in the last couple years and its second-to-last time on Saturday, 20th January 2024 at 4:56p PST. However, a few hours before that, Pluto will be making its annual conjunction with the Sun at 5:46a PST at 29 59’ Capricorn, also on 20th January, just before the Sun enters Aquarius only 23 minutes later at 6:07a PST. Let’s address these three events in order of appearance.
We’ll start with the Sun + Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, which is the last conjunction these two will make in the sign of Capricorn for the next 248 years. The fact this is happening in the literal last minute of Capricorn is profound, as it’s an indication that the transformation of our societal institutions and structures is not yet complete – there’s still more being hidden in the shadows to bring to light, there’s still more purging of what is outdated and/or corrupted to be done. On an individual or personal level, the impact of this conjunction will be felt most powerfully in the areas of our lives which depend on our societal institutions and structures to define us. However, on the collective level, the shockwave that’s likely to result from these continued shifts will be felt in the areas of our lives which are affected by the sign of Aquarius.
Aquarius – as a fixed air sign – represents humanity as a collective whole, but also the role of the uniquely-expressed individual within that collective. People will be drawn to collaborate with other individuals, or they will find themselves adverse to interaction with others, preferring to stand apart or alone to protect their uniqueness and individuality. However, ruled by Saturn (horary/traditional) and Uranus (contemporary), we can expect to see both individuals and humanity trying to navigate both the social impact of the institutional transformation and the impact of emerging and evolving technology upon humanity. With the Sun moving into Aquarius later in the day (or the following day, depending on where you are in the world), the evolutionary jump that is possible will be coming into clearer view for all of us over these next 4.5 weeks.
I see this as a dance between the old, established institutions and structures – the “how the world works” crowd; and the new, innovative, emerging systems – the “collaboration” crowd in which unique individual abilities, talents, and expressions are celebrated and given roles to make their unique contributions to the greater whole. We see this playing out in geopolitics as we speak – the “established” nations trying to maintain hierarchies, authorities, and the divisions which sustain them; while the emerging “collaborative” nations are trying to empower each other’s sovereignty in contribution to a collective effort which benefits all involved. This global dynamic can be seen in our personal lives as well – as we’re individually seeking spaces, places, and roles in which we can be our unique selves and thrive, rather than trying to conform to established roles and spaces which not only may not suit us well, but are also undergoing significant transformation, in order to survive.
That transformation process makes its presence fully known when Pluto officially joins the Aquarian party approximately 11 hours later, this is where things will really get interesting, furthering the intentions of that last minute of Capricorn which, for many if not all of us, kicks off the last phase of our societal shadow-purging before people start truly holding institutions and each other accountable for clinging to a past that no longer serves us well and/or for their corruption and compromise of humanity. The continued evolution of technology will play a significant role in the transition from the outdated institutions to the new ones, as these next 10 months will be critical in not only keeping everyone informed and organized around the transformation from old to new, but also in designating this as a decision-making period for us, as a whole of humanity, to determine whether technology will enhance or detriment the evolution of humanity. The choices we make and steps we take in these next 10 months will do more to set our collective course for the future than many of may realize or want to admit.
So, what do you get to do in order to benefit most from these powerful Sun + Pluto conjunction and ingress into Aquarius energies?
Continue purging what no longer serves you well from your life. If it’s not healthy, not encouraging or supportive, or not helping you accomplish your goals, it can go. It’s okay to say ‘no’ or ‘no more’. It’s okay to walk away. It’s okay to move on.
Continue being attentive to how technology is being used in all areas of your life and in the world around you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions about how or why something is being used.
Begin taking steps toward your future. Even if the path isn’t completely clear to you yet, don’t let that stop you from taking any steps available to you now that feel aligned with what you say you want to create in and for your life.
Seek the company of those who want to see you grow and thrive. Spend more time with people who see what is possible for you and what you have to offer to your community if not the world, rather than wasting time with people who’d rather see you stay where you are forever.
Humanity is meant to awaken and evolve into our Higher consciousness – one in which we are all here to celebrate our individual uniqueness in ways which encourage us to make individual contributions, through collaborations with others, to something greater than ourselves. To enable as many of us as possible to that realization, let’s do our work during this last purge.
We’re on the edge of a bold new world. We must understand that we’re choosing that world right this moment. Right now.
