The Virgo New Moon arriving at 8:04p PDT this evening brings new beginnings in practical matters. The day-to-day of our lives begins to become a little less fun with Leo winding down, and a little more of a to-do list with Virgo taking more of a hold astrologically. Life is starting to feel a bit more real, one day at a time.
This evening, it is likely that you are becoming emotionally present to the Universal shift of focus – you are actually feeling it. With the Sun recently moving into Virgo, our emotions catch up to the practical reality of what is happening in our lives. We can feel the shift from fun, flair and excitement to recovery, healing and everyday matters. Even if it hasn’t sunk in with us intellectually yet – our minds (and mouths) may not have gotten the news that reality has arrived. It’ll be another couple of weeks before Mercury arrives in Virgo as well, and we fully arrive in our collective reality check moment.
The bad news: if you haven’t been dealing fully with the practical details of your circumstances, you may find that you are blindsided emotionally. And after the high of Sun in Leo and with Mercury now in direct motion in Leo, there is plenty of optimism and good feeling. That said, if you have been feeling especially good about yourself or have been particularly arrogant, the Virgo New Moon is going to bring forth the realization that the party’s over, and it’s time to get back to work. The details of your everyday life are waiting for you to attend to them, and they may be a challenge to face and deal with if you have been neglecting them. In fact, the longer the neglect the more challenging it may be to face and deal with.
The thing is…there is no one else to “blame” for the neglect of these matters. It is your own responsibility (or lack thereof) which has led you to the issues at hand. Consider this example: if you have been avoiding a mess in the garage despite your wife/husband telling you to do it, and suddenly you absolutely must find something you need in the midst of it all, you’ll wish you hadn’t procrastinated and avoided taking an opportunity to clean. Likewise, if you’ve been blaming someone else for your challenges in life or avoiding doing what you’ve been guided or advised to do or take care of, it is likely something may occur that will properly place responsibility for those challenges squarely upon your shoulders.
It’s tough now, and it will likely get harder as we get closer to Mercury in Virgo on the 9th. There isn’t much room to escape the practical matters that need to be dealt with in your life.
The good news: if you have been dealing with challenges as they’ve arisen, this won’t be too challenging of a time. In fact, you may find you navigate through this period with relative ease and smoothness. With one foot in reality the whole time, you didn’t allow the high of the Leo energy to get you too high. You still managed to keep a clear focus on what you are committed to, and your focus may begin to pay off in this next few weeks. You’ll get the first glimpse of the harvest you’ll reap when the Full Moon comes out on the 12th. That’s when the reality brings our emotions to a head and we really get to experience the full emotional impact of our acceptance or denial of the practical and real matters of our lives.
Take notice of the things that are coming up for you this weekend. Take notice because these are the matters that will continue to come to the fore for you over the next couple of weeks. Make the most of the knowledge that all you need to do is deal with these things – attend to them, address them, get them done (or make a plan to get them done). Creating plans to deal with them and acting upon those plans to get them done will give you a sense of satisfaction in what may be a unusually challenging Virgo period.
Hang in there, people. Enjoy the week. Until next time…
