Well, today’s the day. We finally get to find out what all of the hubbub is about.
As the Moon moves into Taurus in the early morning hours of Monday, July 29th, 2013 and enters aspect range of the six other planets involved in trine, sextile, and opposition aspects (Venus in Virgo, Pluto Retrograde in Capricorn, Mars and Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn in Scorpio, and Neptune Retrograde in Pisces), this July 2013 “Star of David” configuration (or Grand Sextile) of Earth and Water finally completes itself.
There’s a lot of information floating around out there about this particular “Star”, beginning at 4:35a PDT, at its most exact at 10:43a PDT, and technically complete at 2:22a PDT on July 30th (based upon the 6° aspect orb I use), and it ranges from gleeful hope to doomsday dread. Yet one thing is for certain – this is major.
The components involved in this “Star”/Grand Sextile do not make this July 2013 version a pleasant and easy configuration, even if sextiles and trines are usually considered positive aspects in astrology. Though these aspects generally do make energies work better together, the nature of the planets and signs involved has these elements working well together to create a perfect storm of energies that can bring forth profound shifts in the way the world works.
This Star doesn’t come alone. Along with this configuration, two other bodies will make their mark on this glorious astrological pattern – Uranus Retrograde in Aries and the Sun in Leo, adding some fire energy to this extremely powerful earth-water blend. Both of these bodies will create very challenging configurations known as T-Squares with planets involved in the Star: Uranus squares both the Jupiter-Mars conjunction and Pluto, while the Sun square both the Moon and Saturn. Toss in the fact that we are currently experiencing numerological 4 energy – a desire for stability, structure, and security, which is the exact opposite of what is occurring now – and all of this creates some serious tension. The building energy that is generated today through these 9 astrological bodies all being within aspect orb of each other that has no choice but to manifest circumstances for its release.
Something’s gotta give, and if it doesn’t give now, things will be set in motion for it (or them) to give soon.
Often, we as humans do not adapt easily to change. In fact, we tend to resist it until it is unavoidable and/or undeniable, and then we tend to complain about it as if the Universe has victimized us by forcing us to submit to something beyond our control.
Yet the fact of the matter is that we chose the behaviors and actions that have created the present circumstances that the Universe is now about to help us clean up. And yes, we are now being forced to deal with the aftermath of what in many cases has been our own blissful ego-based ignorance in dealing with our earthly, worldly, emotional, and spiritual matters.
Under the influence of this “Star”, we may not like these much-needed changes or how these changes come about. Yet we are likely to find that we as individuals, communities, institutions, nations, as a world, humanity, and as a collective Oneness of All-That-Is are better for them in the long run…that is, if we choose to embrace them rather than resist them.
That is what is concerning about this combination of patterns, bodies, and signs. Resistance is futile, yet it is what many humans tend to do in the face of change – they attempt to preserve the status quo out of fear of change. Today’s feature event is wired in a way that shows a strong inclination to resist or fight what is coming. Either people will resist the changes altogether, or they will be open to change but not as it is presented to them and they will want to fight for components that allow them to feel safe, secure, nurtured, cared for, and protected.
The really prominent elements of this dynamic in my opinion – are actually the Jupiter-Mars conjunction in Cancer, Pluto in Capricorn opposite that conjunction, and Uranus squaring them both. This is where the punch is – the unexpected, unpredictable, undeniable impact comes from this T-Square that is hiding behind the wonderment of the “Star”.
It’s what I like to call a “Shiny Object Predicament”. We are being distracted from where the real changes are occurring. It’s a classic case of that old analogy – watching the right hand do one thing while the left hand does another. While we are all watching the “Star”, mesmerized by its rarity. And though it is powerful, it is the T-Squares that are doing the real heavy lifting…or rather, heavy shifting.
Notice the absence of air sign energy in both the “Star” and T-Square configurations. This is because we’re so busy being focused on the changes that we’re not actually thinking much about them or about how they are all coming together right now. When more of us begin wrapping around our brains around this all, we are probably in for a huge and possibly rude awakening as what we’ve created this world to be becomes very clearly apparent to us.
The effects of all that happens – or at least what is set in motion – during these 22 hours will be pretty profound. This may be the beginning of an amazing time in world history in which the proverbial (or maybe even actual) landscape of the world may be forever altered.
With all of these changes happening around us, it’s obvious that major changes will be happening to us, for us, and within us as well. This is a time in which we get to experience the payoffs or the costs of our actions to this point in our lives. Each and all of us may be called upon to recognize where we have chosen to put our emotional and spiritual energies, and how those choices have affected our abilities to function or produce results on the physical-material-financial or worldly level of things.
Sometimes we are so emotionally invested in something or someone that we sacrifice our worldly well-being to attend to theirs. In other cases, we may be so focused on ourselves and getting our worldly resources or how we think those resources make us look that we forget why we are working so hard to acquire them. This “Star” and these T-Squares give us an amazing opportunity to get in touch with the reality of what we have created in our individual personal and profession lives – to see the relationships and communities we have built and conditioned. We changing from within and in doing so, we are now recognizing what needs to change outside of and around us to support who we are becoming. This
Questions to ask yourself throughout this powerful day:
- How am I changing? Who am I now? Am I really the same person I’ve always been? If not, how have I changed? If I am the same, why am I not changing – is it fear, or simply because I have no reason to yet?
- What am I striving for? What are my goals and ambitions now? Have they changed, or do they remain the same?
- Do the relationships and communities I am part of still ring true for me? If so, am I willing to commit to them? If not, am I willing to step out of them to find people who are more in alignment with who I am now?
They’re some deep questions, yet this July 2013 “Star of David” configuration signifies a deeply transformative time. Yet by accepting and possibly even embracing this time of change, you may find that you have the power to create your world anew in a very profound and empowering for you and your loved ones.
The only constant in life is change. We might as well embrace it.
Thank you for reading and sharing Signs and Numbers. Until next post…
