Venus leaves its dramatic and exciting journey through Leo and enters the sign of Virgo at 7:32p PDT on Monday, 9th July 2018. This move shifts the focus of our 1-on-1 interactions of all kinds away from the excitement of expressing one’s individual creativity to make ourselves known to others, and shifts it toward how our interactions and relationships actually support the function of our everyday individual lives in real and practical ways.
Venus in Virgo brings mutable earth energy to our day-to-day, it may seem as if its effect on relationships is going to be a downer… and in some ways, it will be. Venus in Virgo will bring relationships of all kinds down-to-earth, and for some people, this is going to be a challenging few weeks if they tend to idealize or fantasize their relationships or their partners.
If you’re someone who is all about the romance and emotion, I promise you – this is not going to be a fun month for you. Venus in Virgo will NOT bring you the romance or dreaminess to your relationships that you may be looking for… unless your idea of romance is looking deeply into each other’s eyes while folding the laundry and talking about what you’re going to cook for dinner.
Venus in Virgo deals with the nitty-gritty realities of everyday life. This influence shifts our focus to who’s going to do their part to make sure your partnership and more importantly, your life together actually works! This is the “boring”, ordinary stuff of everyday life that gets to be attended to…
… and believe it or not, this is what many people need to feel loved! Especially with the Cancer 9 Sun this 2018 Venus in Virgo initiates under, attention to these ordinary acts of living are how some people feel supported and cared for. And under the upcoming Leo 9 & Leo 1 Sun energies, this is how some people will want to be acknowledged – for their acts of everyday service. They want someone who is a real and true partner in the day-to-day grind of life and who walks that talk, and in some cases, they thrive in being that partner.
When we get down to it, the partnerships which face, deal, and do the real work are the relationships which last – the ones which can function in real life endure. They’re the ones that go with the flow, roll with the punches, and adapt to inevitably changing plans to figure out how to “make it work”.
These next 4 weeks will be an excellent time for you to examine the functionality of your partnerships in all areas of your life. Which ones serve you well? Which ones serve you best? And which ones don’t serve you well or at all?
Give special notice to the ones make your life easier and which support your health and wellness… on every level of your life and being. If it sucks the life out of you, you don’t want to keep it going, and during the month of July 2018 – a 9 universal month of completions and endings – it may be a good month to bring a few connections which no longer serve you well to an end.
However, once August begins, we’ll have a 1 universal month of new beginnings and fresh starts. Venus will be wrapping up its time in Virgo during the first week of that month, so you’ll want to be aware of the connections you already have and get to renewing old connections and/or forming new connections. Make sure the old ones still serve you (and others) well, and make sure the new ones serve a pragmatic purpose in your life. Make sure they all assist you in moving forward in healthy and productive ways toward your goals and objectives.
This will take some responsibility on your part! We must remember that it’s no one else’s job to do 100% of the work to make a relationship work. “It takes two to tango”, and yes, you’ll want to give 100%… but you also want to be in connection with someone(s) else giving 100%. If you’re expected to carry the entire load of making a relationship functional on the mundane level, it’s not nor is it going to be a healthy or balanced relationship for you… and if you expect someone to carry your part of the load for you while attending to their own, it’s not likely to be a healthy or balanced relationship for them. Balancing your energies and efforts is crucial for a relationship to be balanced, healthy, and functional on the everyday level for both of you, individually and in union.
When your relationships work, your life works for the better.
These dynamics will apply not only to personal relationships, but to professional and diplomatic relationships as well. This may prove interesting as we begin to notice that some of the connections we make with people aren’t necessarily because we like them, but because they serve a practical purpose for or to us. In some cases, certain relationships will only be a means to an end – they’ll serve their purpose, and we’ll keep them in tact until they no longer serve that purpose. But it would be wise for you to remember that this works both ways, so don’t be surprised to find out you’ve served your purpose for someone else and that you’re experiencing an ending on your end of things, too.
Yet the ending may actually end up healing you more than it hurts. Don’t let momentary pain of the ending distract you from the new beginnings at hand. Allow the relationships which must end to come to an end, and open your arms to embrace connections which work…
… and maybe a couple of grocery bags and some dry cleaning, too.
Venus will be traveling through Virgo now through 6th August 2018.
Thank you for reading and sharing Signs and Numbers. Until next post…
