The Aquarius Sun conjuncts Aquarius Moon to form the 2019 Aquarius New Moon on Monday 4th February at 1:02p PST (15.75°). This New Moon marks a “changing of the guard” in which the old ways begin to realize that the technologies and methods of the day
Aquarius is the “water-bearer” in astrology, but I often interpret it as the “light-bearer” in that it brings an awareness of bring part of something greater than our individual selves. It brings consciousness of other beings, and that for things to work, we must work together yet bring what we each uniquely are to the table as a contribution to the greater whole.
The number 5, in numerology, is representative of change, variety, versatility, adaptability, excitement; its more challenging: aspects would be easily bored or lacking attention span, which often leads to drama and disruption. The entirety of February 2019 will be a 5 universal month which embodies these qualities and characteristics.
Together, these energies combine to create the Aquarius 5 Sun, which brings the energy of “The Rebel with A Cause”, willing to go against the social norms in order to advocate for a greater cause and contribute to the evolution of humanity-at-large. As result, much of its attention will be focused on new and/or improved ways of doing things by making changes to the standard, current ways. This is likely to awaken desires to also reveal the dysfunction in the motives, systems and process behind the popular methods for gaining public support; exposing the institutional agendas and societal conditioning that’s been going on.
This darkness of corruption and manipulation runs deeper than we have imagined, and just when we think we’ve gotten to the bottom, we’ll see the bar drop even lower than before. It’s surprising how things seem to be getting even more corrupt, and it’s shocking how the corruption seems to be even more widespread and/or common than most of us can comprehend…
…yet we the people are changing as result. Most of us cannot align with those methods any longer – we simply won’t go along with them. In fact, we’re now likely to start rebelling against them. That’s because our trust in those associated with “the old order” is compromised and damaged beyond repair. Anything and everything those who have been in positions of power have done and/or continue to do will be met with skepticism and doubt. We, as the mass, won’t fall for their usual tactics anymore. Those who have been in power for a while need to develop new ways to reach the rest of us if they’re going to get us to give them any credibility, let alone get us back on their side.
It’s becoming increasingly clear that those old patterns, systems, and processes are being (or have been) disrupted, and that people in positions of power and influence aren’t going to be able to get away with doing those things the same way they always have for very much longer.
Of course, those in power employing these outdated methods are not going to be happy about people not falling for their schtick. In fact, they may stage rebellions of their own in efforts to resist the inevitable changes. Yet technology has come too far and too fast for them to be able to stay in the fight for long. They, too, will eventually find themselves answering the call to change.
That said, New Moons mark opportunities for new beginnings and fresh starts. This is a time to think about what you want, and what you can set an intention for. Using the energy of both the Sun and the Moon can help you feel that you know your desire properly, and can understand yourself and your earnest aims with more clarity.
In particular, this Aquarius 5 New Moon marks a changing of the guard – a time of illumination, inspiration, innovation, and invention which calls upon each and all of us to implement different ideas, update systems, and new processes. These changes are all backed with the intention of establishing innovation and diversity as the new social and societal standards within our communities, our nations, and throughout the world. As you become more aware of what no longer works, you can be part of the community that makes the changes to help the world become a better place for all.

Moon (Sun+Moon conjunction) is semi-sextile both Saturn and Neptune at the
time of its maximum phase. This brings some energy into the New Moon’s
emotional power:
- Saturn brings energy of wanting to work with rules, regulations, and disciplinary efforts from those in the positions of power. This strongly challenges the Sun and Moon’s Aquarian desire for completely new ways of working. The energy of this aspect can help balance the desire to toss everything out with the discernment to recognize how some of it may still work in positive ways.
- Neptune brings increased emotional and transcendental awareness to that Aquarian energy. This can also add a bit more interest in rebellion, bucking conventional, and/or creating innovative approaches to matters at hand. This can lead to some powerfully visionary ideas, but it can also bring disillusionment or delusions of grandeur.

- Squares are intense. It’s when the energy of one of the planets presents a strong challenge to the energy of another. It’s important for us to see how those connections may be rooted in our personal/professional/societal goals and objectives. - The dark side of humanity (intentions driven by the collective ego-pride) reveals that some people are more concerned with maintaining their community/social image than with expressing their image authentically. They will say anything in order to seem like they are on the people’s side, focused more on “popularity” and “social acceptance”. But the old ways won’t be able to keep up with the new technologies, and information in ANY and ALL of its forms – text, audio, and video – will travel faster than some of the older generations can keep up with.
- semi-sextile Capricorn Pluto (19-21°) – The changes, shifts, and collapses of our societal institution (our societal restructuring) will lead to those people who are strongly ego-invested in their societal roles, doing whatever it takes to uphold their societal status and position.
- sextile Sagittarius Jupiter (18-20°) – growing awareness of factual truth (truth coming to light, outgrowing its confines of darkness and shadow) makes it harder to “spin” to the public. This is especially the case for those who can’t see their own evil when they view their opponent or enemy as being evil. It’s when their perception is “they get away with the same thing”. This is justification. It’s delusion, and this is the attempt to make two wrongs equal a right.

You have an opportunity to be among the first to step into the emerging truth, leading the charge for change… if you choose to be. After all, this is a changing of the guard – a time for new ideas and new leadership to come forward and shine in the ever-brightening light of truth.
