At 10:49a PDT, about 90 minutes before the Scorpio Full Moon (the “big event of the day”) goes into full effect, there’s another powerful transit that makes its presence known.
It’s actually made its presence known for a few days now, likely showing up as frustration. This is because the old way of doing things has finally hit a wall.
Welcome, Venus in Aries square Pluto Retrograde in Capricorn, and thank you for clearing up the true meaning of diplomacy.
Venus is the ruler of Libra, and is the planet representative of balance and peace. This balance and peace is rooted in principles of fairness and justice, and sometimes even equality. It thinks and operates in terms of “we”, understanding that one cannot exist without the other so every effort should be made to find agreement and compromise so that peace can be established and maintained. For this reason, Venus is the great diplomat of the Zodiac, quickly moving from sign to sign to bring, maintain, and/or restore the peace and ease that can exist when the 12 signs work together in harmony.
What is interesting about Venus being in Aries is that Aries is the sign opposite Libra in the Zodiac – the “me” to Libra’s “we”. Therefore, Venus – the planet of “we” – is currently traveling through the energy of “me”. Venus is approaching diplomacy from an assertive (if not aggressive), and is doing so with its self-interest(s) in mind. Individual agendas are being presented under a shroud of diplomacy, with the objective being to gain an upper hand or a “leadership” position in the exchange or debate – to gain the right to determine the course of the dialogue and activity.
The funny thing is that this Venus in Aries self-centered approach to diplomacy is nothing new in the world. However, the call to change that approach to diplomatic policy is a call to be answered now because the world is changing now. In fact, it has changed too much to tolerate the selfish agendas and manipulative behavior of eras past.
The square aspect that Venus in Aries makes with Pluto Retrograde in Capricorn is the star of this sideshow as it reveals the degree of progress that Pluto is making in dismantling these outdated, disingenuous approaches to diplomacy. The carefully-crafted lies, deceptions, and manipulations that come with self-interest “diplomacy” no longer serve humanity well, and Pluto Retrograde is rendering them ineffective as result…
…much to the dismay of the establishments that still attempt to use these not-so-carefully crafted tactics.
We can see occurrences of the challenges this Venus-Pluto Retrograde square are bringing forth simply by reading about current world events. However, you may also see this in matters of your own personal life experiences.
- Where are you finding frustration as result of the ways that you usually handle situations or circumstances no longer working for you?
- Where do you recognize that wherever frustration is coming up for you may be an area of your life where you are trying to force your agenda rather than seeking what makes the most sense for both/all parties involved?
Then check in with yourself once you’ve identified the sources of those frustrations.
- Is it possible that you may be resisting a change or resisting the clearing of something that no longer serves you?
- Is it possible that you may be resisting the transformation of your life into exactly what you want or something even better than that?
The challenges that may arise under the influence of this Venus-Pluto Retrograde square are helping you recognize where your life is trying to change course. When you stop trying to force your agenda on others through false diplomacy, you allow true diplomacy to run its course and for true balance and fairness to be established. Give yourself permission to allow these open and objective discussions and the earnestly-achieved balance to come into being.
It may be frightening to allow the old to fall away, but it’s nowhere near as frightening as what your life could look like as long as you’re trying to hold onto something that no longer serve you well or that may no longer exist as an option.
