Happy 2015! A few things have happened while I’ve been away from Signs and Numbers, getting through the holiday season and working on the first Life By Soul book.
This is the first of four blog posts to cover recent astrological and numerological events and get us all caught up. Let’s take a look at Saturn.
From October of 2012 through most of December 2014, we were under the quite polarizing all-or-nothing influence of Saturn in Scorpio. There were many hard and decisive disciplinary authoritative decisions, many of which were made out of deep-seeded fears of vulnerability and change. These decisions not only caused polarization – they also sustained if not increased the number of polarized perspectives on many matters.
On 23rd December 2014, Saturn entered Sagittarius. This was and continues to be a major turning point because it marks a moment when existing boundaries and structures may need major reassessment and authoritative institutions must give up their polarizing views and approaches as they begin facing either or both the growth and expansion of truth and/or the desire to explore and experience things first-hand to discover truth. Sagittarius may bring a bit of optimism to usually grumpy Saturn, and there is the intention that by acknowledging and acting to reveal and align with truth, challenging matters may begin moving in positive directions and toward amicable resolutions. However, it is just as possible that structured and authoritative Saturn may bring structure, focus, and discipline to Sagittarius’ freedom-loving and wide-open manner.
This influence of Saturn in Sagittarius will likely show up in one or more of the following three ways:
- Saturn may restrict Sagittarius’ usually open-minded and adventurous character, resulting in institutions determined to uphold their deep-rooted beliefs and philosophies of Truth. You may notice people or groups becoming increasingly closed-off to any challenges to their versions or interpretations of Truth, and applying their efforts and energies to the building or sustaining of hard boundaries and harsh authoritative enforcement of their beliefs and philosophies. Any movements to open or expand a range of interpretation or to make long-standing guidelines more inclusive are emphatically resisted or decried. Their rules become more narrowed and restrictive in order to preserve the Truths that have endured to this point.
- Sagittarius may open up Saturn’s restrictive and confining approach a bit, allowing open-mindedness in the assessment of what is actually and factually true. There may be a more intentional search for a larger, more comprehensive or inclusive Truth rather than a restrictive, past-based assumption of Truth. Deep-rooted beliefs and philosophies may release their hold a bit, recognizing that rules and guidelines may be too strict or confining and causing decrease and retraction rather than the desired increase and expansion. Sag’s influence helps Saturn realize that opening up to new possibilities and expressions of Truth may actually help clarify and strengthen their knowledge of Truth.
- Saturn will give focus and discipline to Sagittarius’ adventurous and often expansive truth-seeking energies. There may be very specific questions or concerns in the pursuit of goals that need to be addressed in regard to the search for Truth and/or to the development of philosophies of Truth. Sagittarius opens up the possibilities that may be considered in that search, while Saturn defines the parameters which help determine which possibilities are viable options for acceptance as collective and/or comprehensive philosophies of Truth.
The key thing about Saturn in Sagittarius is that it is focused and disciplined growth and expansion. It understands that in order to grow successfully, there needs to be a structure in place to help focus your energies and an objective or a bigger reason or purpose to strive for – there needs to be a goal. There also needs to be something to help remind you of that goal as you move forward, venturing out into the great big world searching for the truths that help you recognize and realize your intentions. After all, you’ll need to know what you’re looking for in order to find it.
Saturn in Sag fulfills both of those roles fabulously, and it’s something to keep in mind as you move forward through this Sagittarius Saturn period – that if or when you feel oppressed or held back in some way, it may be because you don’t have a clear goal or objective in place, there’s something you still need to learn or experience in order for you to recognize and/or accept the truth, or there are things beyond your control that must occur in order for you to receive the truth or have an experience that leads you to it. It may also indicate that you may want to open your mind and your fields of experience to find the truth you seek.
No matter what the circumstances may be for you, remember that Saturn in Sagittarius is here to help each and all of us focus and direct our energies toward the fulfillment of our goals. Don’t let it get you frustrated – even if you feel like you can’t go where you want to go, trust that you’re being led to where you need to go to align with your deepest and most honest Truth. It’s all good.
Saturn will be in the sign of Sagittarius until 19th December 2017.
Thank you for reading and sharing Signs and Numbers. Until next post…
