The Sagittarius Full Moon is always an interesting time because the Gemini Sun shines its light of intellectual inquiry and theory upon the equally intellectual yet adventurous Sagittarius Moon. Gemini ‘s childlike curiosity and impetuous logic seeks to be satiated by the emotional wisdom of Sagittarius’ life experience.
The Gemini Sun says “These are the theories and ideas I’ve deducted (or made up) – I may or may not have actually done these yet, so they might be true.” The Sagittarius Moon says “I’ll take your theories and ideas, and I’ll test them out – I’ll find out what about them is really true, what the facts are, and how it feels to experience them emotionally.”
The Sagittarius Moon then comes back and says “This is my actual emotional experience of your theories and ideas.” The Gemini Sun says “Great! Share with me or teach me about your experiences so I can learn from them and develop or expand my intellectual process from it.”
However, this 2015 edition of the Sagittarius Full Moon – exact at 9:19a PDT on Tuesday, 2nd June 2015 (11.82°), is especially interesting because there are TWO mutable energy lunar t-square configurations with Neptune in Pisces at the pivot point occurring prior to the Full Moon’s maximum. Mutable mode energy means that the energy being projected has the effect of making people and matters more flexible and new ideas and perspectives more easily adaptable. Think of branches bending in the wind or water running around stones in a brook. In the same way, our thoughts, ideas, perspectives, and beliefs can be more easily adjusted or altered under the influence of mutable energy.
Neptune is in its sign of rulership in Pisces, so it can be lost in a dream world more than it is in any other sign. This is great for artistic and visionary endeavors, religious or spiritual idealism, vivid imagination and visualization, and overall delusional thinking, and is a sign of a period in time when there can be great creative and ingenious revelation and expression. Yet Pisces Neptune periods can also indicate periods in which lofty idealism proves to be detrimental in everyday applied practice; maybe a bit too “head in the clouds” or “rose-colored glasses”, not willing to deal with factual truth, practical reality, or systematic implementation.
The dilemma with our visions and belief is that they’re often just that – visions and beliefs. How do you prove your visions to be valid or your beliefs to be true?
With the Gemini Sun-Sagittarius Moon opposition that is in play, the answers to the questions of validity and truth must be found in areas that Pisces Neptune is extremely uncomfortable dealing with – intellectual logic and experiential fact. You may find yourself having to reconcile your fantastic idealism either through clear and logical intellectual explanation OR through sharing the wisdom of your actual and factual experiences.
The first lunar t-square occurs at 3:28a PDT with Mercury Retrograde in Gemini opposite the Sagittarius Moon with Neptune at the pivot (7-9°), and it strongly implies that your words of “explanation” may actually become your words of self-incrimination. In trying to explain yourself, you may end up revealing truths that you really don’t (or didn’t) intend to have reach the light of day…or in this case, the Light of Truth. You may also receive feedback from others (thanks specifically to Mercury Rx) that may force you to look at your thoughts, ideas, beliefs, words, and possibly yourself very differently than you have before.
Though this first t-square may bring a very painful intellectual/logical reality check for those of you who have been living in delusion, this check may also be a very good turn in the bigger picture of things– good because there is an opportunity to embrace truth and restore integrity to one’s belief system and/or way of thinking and behaving. In turn, you may help restore integrity to the larger collective of your community, your society, or even humanity at large.
The second lunar t-square involving the Sun replacing Mercury Retrograde in its position in the t-square opposite the Sagittarius Moon (9-11°) is most exact at 7:24a PDT, and it is still in effect when the Full Moon reaches maximum phase just under two hours later. These few hours are when truth has the greatest potential to fully come to Light. The Sun reveals all – nothing remains hidden. As this occurs, the “light bulb” or “a-ha” moments will abound. Things will click – especially on the emotional level –as people realize where their ideals break from the facts. This is also the point when they may realize just how far from truth they have wandered.
There’s a good chance that on this 2015 Sagittarius Full Moon day, you and many other people may recognize exactly how you may not be practicing what you preach or how you may not be speaking factual truth. You may also learn and understand exactly how beliefs and facts aren’t always (and rarely are) the same thing.
The challenge we have here in these t-squares is that there is no earth element energy to balance things out. Black Moon Lilith is in Virgo, but she’s at 21° Virgo – too far ahead of the t-square configurations to oppose Pisces Neptune, so it leaves us operating from intellect and emotion alone. With the Moon, Neptune, and Pisces involved, it’s the emotional response that will be the measure here.
That said, advantage Sagittarius. The experiential truths that are revealed and the emotional responses to them are going to be the voices of reason and truth during this Full Moon.
All of this is occurring on a numerological universal 7 day. 7 is an energy which encourages (if not demands) both scientific and spiritual analysis and introspection. All options and possibilities will be explored and considered in the search for logical and factual interpretation and explanation before any choices are made. Along with the mutable modality of the t-squares, this implies that there will be quite a bit of thoughtful consideration of many different perspectives and opinions before any definitive choices are made.
Keep in mind – just because people realize how far they’ve wandered from fact-based truth doesn’t mean they’ll return to it. There’s this thing called ego pride that often gets in the way, and there may be quite a few people (possibly including yourself) who try to remain resolute in the face of their collapsing credibility.
These discrediting revelations will also affect the people who believed in these fallen others as their idols or role models. They will have to reconcile what they now know about these people with their own life experiences. They’ll have to confront their own feelings about what they know and feel about their own lives in order to justify their positions. Some people will find that they will need to let go of some major grievances to forgive some people in order to save face and maintain their beliefs. Others will need to allow the ivory towers they’ve tried to hold up to collapse and change the foundation of their beliefs.
You may need to do the same. You may also need to reconcile what is now being revealed to you with how you choose to think about, talk about, and go about living your life. You, too, may need to accept and shift in the foundation of your own ideals and beliefs.
Two recent incidents come to mind – the FIFA corruption scandal that is beginning to be dealt with and (here in the U.S.) the Duggar Family molestation scandal that is coming to light.
With the FIFA debacle, many nations and their officials are having to face and deal with their degree of involvement in the matter in order to hold others to account for blatant and rampant corruption within the organization. They have to ask:
- Well, how corrupt are we? Are we just as corrupt or just as implicated in the corruption as those we are trying to blame?
- What are we going to do now to oppose this injustice?
- How do we intend to right these wrongs in earnest?
With the Duggar family revelations, some people are having to face and deal with abuse and molestation issues in their own lives. They are also having to face and deal with the hypocrisy that exists among those who (claim to) share their beliefs and practices. Some people are now having to ask themselves:
- If I say that I believe people should be forgiven and that I believe they can change their ways, can I forgive the people who have done horrible things to me, and do I believe those people can or have changed their ways?
- Can I forgive myself for doing similar horrible things to others? Am I as bad a person as they are?
- How can I trust or forgive these people who have done horrible things to each other despite claiming to have the same beliefs I have?
- How many other people believe what I believe and have done similar or worse deeds?
- Exactly what and/or who am I defending or protecting when I am defending and protecting people who do these things?
- Does defending these horrible people make me a horrible person, too?
- Does rallying against them make me a good person, or am I being just as judgmental as I accuse them of being?
It’ll be interesting to see how these scandals each play out. More importantly, it’ll be interesting to see the intellectual and emotional impact of these and other matters upon our world, our nations, our communities, and our individual lives in the coming days, weeks, and months. Whether or not we are directly invested in or affected by their practices and choices or not, there is bound to be an enduring ripple effect upon all of our lives as result of the revelations that occur during this 2015 Sagittarius Full Moon and its accompanying t-squares.
Thank you for reading and sharing Signs and Numbers. Until next post…
