Ceres entered the sign of Aries at 7:50a PDT on Thursday, 14th April 2016.
Aries is the “me, me, me” of the Zodiac – it inspires the initiative action which gives you your self-identity. Ceres is the ruler of Taurus, and represents your personal lifestyle resources (a.k.a. – survival needs) and your ability to sustain your identity with those resources. Combine these two energies, and you’re likely being called upon to take initiative in providing for yourself physically, materially, and financially. You’re also being given one or more opportunities to define your personal values through the actions you take to provide for yourself and your life.
Ceres in Aries bring significance to the steps you take to align yourself with the values and morals which serve your own best interests. Sometimes, that’s a really great thing. Yet it’s important to remember that your own best interests may not be in everyone else’s best interests. This is where this placement for Ceres starts to be interesting.
This 2016 Ceres in Aries will NOT be a community values exercise – it will be a personal sustenance exercise. Ceres in Aries will help you get clear about 1) how you choose to manage or use your own personal resources, and 2) how to acknowledge and embrace (or release) your personal morals and values which arise as result of the choices you’ve made. Therefore, this is an excellent time for you to create or clarify your own values and morals without factoring in the expectations of others…or at least without the expectations you think others may have of you.
The fact is…you won’t really know what others think of you until you actually do something for others to respond or react to. This is where the Aries part of this combination kicks in – it encourages Ceres to act to reveal your authentic values and moral compass. Under the influence of Ceres in Aries, your actions will reflect your true values and morals. There won’t really be a way to hide them, so you might as well embrace them and live them fully.
This Ceres in Aries energy helps you make sure that your values and morals are truly your own and that you’re not simply going along with whatever others say. It’s time for you to value your leadership by being a leader for yourself first and foremost. After all, why should anyone else listen to you if you’re not going to listen to yourself? And why should you do anything that is not in your best self-interest?
This is why the question which goes with this 2016 Ceres in Aries is…”what’s in it for me?”
It’s exactly to the point. No one ever does anything that is not in their own self-interest in some way. People will always put themselves out into the world in ways which reflect their own inner beliefs, intentions, and/or agendas. Even when someone is committed to being of service to others, they’re contributing their time and energy knowing that it makes them feel good about themselves, or makes them look good to others, etc. There’s something in it for them…even if that something isn’t physical, material, or financial.
The key during this 2016 Ceres in Aries period is to realize that everyone – including you – is revealing their lifestyle values and principles through their actions. In the process of defining yourself for yourself, it would be wise to remember that others are also taking initiative to define themselves for themselves at this time. After all, they’re wanting to know what’s in it for them just as much as you want to know what’s in it for you.
