As of 9:36a this morning, we have a New Moon in Sagittarius – new beginnings in the sign of freedom and adventure, and the personal growth and wisdom of experience that comes as result of them. It marks the initiation of a time of year in which we look at our lives and see all that we’ve gone through in the year, assessing where we’d like to experience next, considering areas in which we’d like to grow or expand, and becoming aware of all we’ve learned in the process. It’s also a mutable fire sign, so along with the review comes the energy to act upon what we become aware of. The last set of changes for the current year start to come to the surface now. What we become conscious to now often proves to become what our “new year’s resolutions” are born from.
Sagittarius is a positive and optimistic energy, and tends to be larger than life, and can be known to exaggerate matters just a tad (or maybe a lot, depending on the individual). Yet Sagittarian energy also tends to be among the best energies for considering “the big picture” of matters, and can be very perceptive about how little things can (and will) affect the larger scope of things, especially over time. The combination of fire and mutable energies makes Sagittarius the sign of ‘inspired changes’ – changes to be put into a tangible action plan by the energy of the sign which follows – the cardinal earth energy of Capricorn.
So take this time to congratulate yourself for all you’ve experienced this year. Give yourself credit where credit is due; allow yourself to be present to all you’ve learned about yourself, others, and life this yer; and give yourself permission to be fully and freely self-expressed in sharing with others all that you’ve learned this year. Also take time to acknowledge those in your life who have opened up those experiences for you – who have taught you, who have allowed you to teach, who have given you opportunities to experience life this year and embrace the growth those opportunities have provided you.
Acknowledge the adventure of life, and acknowledge your unique experience of it.
