With Venus in Sagittarius as of 11:17p PST on 29th December 2015, one-on-one relationships of all kinds embark on a search for factual and experiential truth. Your partners may inspire or encourage you to try new things or to explore new places and activities.
Venus in Sagittarius may also bring up the areas of your life in which you may be ready to explore new environments and experiences, yet you may not want to embark on those adventures alone. Choosing to be in the company of other individuals in “going there and doing that” is more than likely under Venus in Sagittarius.
Venus is the ruling planet of Libra. It’s often misinterpreted as “the love planet” because of its association with partnerships. Yet the partnership reference refers to one-on-one relationships of all kinds, and with its air element association, Venus represents a logic and reason-based assessment of relationships – are they fair, equal, just, and/or balanced? Are they peaceful and easy, or is there a constant battle over who has the upper hand?
The answers to those questions are important. In Sagittarius, Venus is assessing the best partners to go on its adventures with. It is looking to seek the truth in everything and everyone around it; it wants to test out theories and find out what is actually and factually real and true…and it wants people it can count on and get along with to accompany it on its journey.
In the process, truths about the real state of your one-on-one relationships are likely to emerge. If you’re not being honest with yourself about certain aspects of your friendships or partnerships, those truths may become difficult to deny in the next few weeks.
Venus moved into the sign of Sagittarius on a 4 universal day – a day of assessing stability, security, and safety in various areas of life. One of the biggest factors in this 2015-2016 Venus in Sagittarius exploration will be figuring out who you can count on for partnership or companionship as your adventures proceed.
Yet the adventures you go on under the influence of Venus in Sagittarius are not necessarily external ones. Even if you share external experiences, you’ll probably learn a good deal about the internal truths of your relationships in sharing those experiences.
As you embark on your joint adventures during Venus’ run through Sagittarius, you may find yourself inadvertently testing and assessing your relationships of all kinds. Which individuals can handle the truths which emerge? Which people do you enjoy frequently interacting with? Which people do you need to maintain distance from? Which ones can be honest with you and with themselves?
Speaking of truth and honesty, it would also be wise for you to ask yourself why you’re in the relationships you’re in. Are you in them because you truly enjoy their company? Are you doing things together that you wouldn’t do alone? Are you in them for their material or financial resources? Are you in them for how they make you feel? Are you in them because they meet your physical needs? The need for truth and honesty goes both ways, and it helps if you’re honest and truthful about why the relationships in your life are important to you. The best connections for you at this time are the ones which develop your experiential wisdom and maturity in healthy, positive, honest, and reciprocal ways.
Sagittarius is a sign of growth and expansion, so you’ll notice those Sagittarian energies playing out in a couple of different ways. One way is through the growth and expansion of your relationship – you may find yourself becoming closer or feeling more connected to certain people in your life while Venus moves through Sagittarius, usually through shared experiences. The other way is that you may find yourself outgrowing some of your relationships…or that some people are outgrowing their relationships with you.

- Sagittarius Venus square Pisces Neptune, most exact on 5th January at 6:33a PST – The actual and factual realities of your relationships may be at odds with your relationship ideals or fantasies. Romantic notions may need to give way to hard truths. Otherwise, truth may be compromised by delusion. This transit’s influence will be felt from 2nd-7th January (3° orb).
- Venus conjunct Saturn in Sagittarius, most exact on 8th January at 8:11p PST – If a relationship isn’t progressing or growing as you’d like it to, it may be because the relationship isn’t in alignment with your larger goals and objectives. You may need to either change your expectations for the relationship or change your goals. This transit’s influence is felt from 5th-11th January.
- Sagittarius Venus trine Aries Uranus, most exact on 12th January at 4:11p PST – Being honest about what makes you feel good in your relationships may find you taking the initiative in changing your social circles. Your honesty helps you find your tribe and find the relationships which help you grow in both experience and maturity. However, you may be so excited about your new direction and associations that you may take impulsive actions to increase or expand the good vibes. Your rapid expansion may have unexpected results or create unintended collateral. Remember, it’s not all about you, and what you do can and likely will affect those around you. This transit is felt from 10th-15th January.
- Sagittarius Venus square Virgo Jupiter, most exact on 17th January at 9:16p PST – Some of you may be experiencing growth or expansion in your daily lifestyle responsibilities, and attending to these responsibilities may be challenged by a growing call to explore and seek truth. Are your partners encouraging you to honor your truth or distracting you from your life? Are they calling you in to a way of living more in alignment with the truth of who you are, or are they destabilizing and compromising your daily responsibilities? This transit’s presence is felt from 15th-20th January.
