The Sun enters Taurus at 6:39p PDT on Sunday 19th April 2026, shifting our collective focus from how we take action to assert our individual self-identities, to the physical, material, and/or financial resources that sustain those individual self-identities. I often diplomatically call these our personal “lifestyle resources”, but in reality, these are our survival needs – the resources we need in order to, literally, survive and thrive.
That said, survival means different things to different people. Each of us has different priorities in regard to what has value in our lives. For those of us who are more privileged, this will often be about preserving public reputation, appearance, and/or status. For others who aren’t as privileged, this is more likely to be about fundamental needs such as food and shelter.
During this 2026 Taurus Sun period, we’ll learn what we personally value most in our lives, and we’ll be able to learn what other individuals, regions, societies, and nation-states value most based upon what we each and all prioritize. We may also learn what we each and all are willing to do in order to either get it or hold onto it. Our priorities will always reveal what is actually most important to us, even if we verbally say otherwise.
There are some interesting transits occurring during this 2026 Taurus Sun ingress. the most prominent transit is the triple-near exact conjunction/stellium of Mercury, Saturn, and Mars at 7° Aries. This is a powerful combination as Mercury represents communication, Saturn represents focus and discipline, and Mars represents action. Of course, Mars is in its own sign, making it extra impulsive, extra assertive (if not aggressive), and its active nature is often activated by ego and/or anger. This combination is a powerful reminder to make sure you walk your talk as you will be held accountable for both your words and actions, especially if they do not align. Those who do what they say they will do will have the power now and forward. Those who do not walk their talk will compromise or lose their power quickly and, very likely, permanently.
Also in Aries, Eris and Chiron also tighten their conjunction to near exact with both bodies now at 26°. This is the healing of the self-identity in ways which allow individuals to express themselves fully without (or despite) fear of the judgment of others. This is courageous healing, and may be what is needed to heal self-identity wounds of the past and finally move on with one’s life.
Yet it’s the conjunction of Juno and Pluto at 5° Aquarius that deserves significant respect at this time, as Aquarius rules both humanity and technology (derived through human ingenuity). Juno represents commitments of all kinds, and Pluto Is transformation, particularly the death of one way of being in order for the birth of a new way of being to emerge. Right now, the battle lines are being drawn between those who want to use technology to control humanity, those who want to use tech to enhance humanity, and those who want to protect humanity from technology. This conjunction reveals the commitment to evolve humanity, but at what cost will that evolution happen, and is the evolution actually a revolution?
Numerologically, the 2026 Taurus Sun period starts with the influence of Taurus 5 energy from 19th through 30th of April 2026. “The Rock in the River” speaks to the desire to stand firm in the midst of chaos. The chaos demands change, yet you do your best to stay in place. However, the water continues rushing by, reshaping you over time, so there is change – it just happens gradually, over time, until you’ve been shaped enough to be ready to make the change you weren’t ready to make before. If you’re eager for change to occur, this energy could also require you to be patient while conditions are being prepared for change. The key here is to understand that there may not be anything you can do to accelerate this change – all you can do is wait for it. From 1st through 20th May 2026, we will be under the influence of Taurus 6 energy – “the Taskmaster” – who are so good at fulfilling mundane tasks and providing for others, they can keep themselves busy and maintain this busy-ness for a long, long time. Yet by staying in this role, you can become so focused on doing work for and/or providing service to others, it can be difficult for you let yourself receive service from others or have others do work for you. You may find yourself neglecting your own needs in order to make sure the needs of others are met, but in 2026, this energy will encourage you to do the exact opposite and stop neglecting your needs and allow yourself to be helped, healed, or provided for. This is happening in a 1 Universal Month of new beginnings, so by allowing yourself to receive as much as you give (or to give as much as you receive), this could open up access to new resources and opportunities, and access to a whole new way of life,
At this time, it should be noted that resources aren’t always money and stuff. Sometimes, they are our relationships, our social or societal roles and the power they give us, our communications abilities or opportunities, our intellectual abilities, etc. The houses in which Taurus sits in your personal natal chart will reveal what you value most and determine essential to your being. The house placement of Taurus in your chart will also reveal the “currency” of your life in the sense that sometimes your resources don’t come to directly, but through other means such as your relationships, your recreational activities, or your mundane/everyday activities.
One more thing to note – the Taurus Sun period starts off moving very, very fast! However, things will slow down a bit. Communications will become more thoughtful, and actions will become more intentional as the month progresses. Many people will begin to pick up on patterns more quickly, and there may be smarter, more concerted collective efforts to take action in response to certain conditions and situations that affect the many rather than the few. If you find yourself feeling as if you’re rushing to catch up, then being held back, don’t freak out! It may simply be a case of you moving and/or growing so quickly, you get ahead of your results. There may be some circumstances in which you experience the “hurry up and wait” phenomenon… but understand that any perceived delays during these next 4.5 weeks are because you’re ahead of the pace, not falling behind it.
Here are a few other things of note during the 2026 Taurus Sun period:
