The 2026 Cancer New Moon reaches its maximum phase at 2:43a PDT on Tuesday 14th July 2026 (21°59’). This 2026 Cancer New Moon brings second chances, new beginnings, and opportunities for “do-overs” in matters of emotional and intuitive self-awareness and self-care.
Cancer is the sign ruled by the Moon, making this New Moon phase especially potent. With the Moon in its home sign. representing intuitive and emotional presence and protection,, the energy of this New Moon may feel particularly maternal, but more like a protective or defensive mother than a gentle or nurturing one.
This is the maternal energy that generates the most fear in people because when backed into a corner, a mother will do anything to protect its child(ren). It’s that “I’d do anything to protect my child” energy is what makes this 2026 Cancer New Moon an unusually intense New Moon phase.
