The 2026 Autumnal Equinox occurs at 5:05p PDT (17:05) on 22nd September 2026.
This Autumnal Equinox occurs at a very reflective time. With all of the outer planets (except for Jupiter) currently moving in retrograde motion, this isn’t as much a personal or individual reflection as it is a collective reflection – a community or cultural “How did we get here?” moment that has many of us wondering how we feel about where things are now. More importantly, on an individual or collective level, it also has us wondering what we do next.
The hard part about the “what to do next” question is that it’s a choice we can only make for ourselves. Whether the choice has to do with what we want as a collective or with what we want as individuals, we can only make the choice that is best aligned with ourselves.
Yet as we enter the Libra Sun’s influence for the next 30 days, we may find ourselves seeking out others to make the choices for us. That’s because as the standards of social & societal success are changing so quickly and have yet to settle into clear definition, we may not be really sure of what we’re going after.
That’s what makes this 2026 Autumnal Equinox fascinating!
Under the 2026 Libra Sun, we may be more inclined than usual to consider other peoples’ opinions & ask them to make the choices for us because we have been conditioned to consider our agreement & alignment with others before we consider agreement & alignment with our own inner selves.

It doesn’t matter if the abundance of retrograde energy has you focused on yourself as an individual, on your community, or on the whole of humanity, These next 4.5 weeks provide an opportunity to re-establish a healthy relationship with yourself – to reconnect with your own individual & personal desires, passions, dreams, visions, & ideas.
This is THE time to build a new relationship with your TRUE self, regardless of what others may think of you when you do.
Astrologically, Libra is a cardinal air sign, initiating the exchange of ideas and information for the purpose of establishing and maintaining diplomacy, fairness, justice, and peace.
