The 2026 Libra New Moon reached its maximum phase at 8:50:02a PDT on Saturday 10th October 2026 (17°21’). New moon phases bring new beginnings (or the seeds of them). Libra brings a desire for balance in everything, but especially in one-on-one interactions and relationships of all kinds. Together, matters of fairness, justice, equality, & peacemaking (or peacekeeping) are brought to the fore under this New Moon’s influence with the intention of recognizing which connections are continuing in the spirit of Libra’s qualities, and which connections may need to be renewed or possibly ended in order to create space for new connections to begin.
That said, the 2026 Libra New Moon also presents opportunities for renewal due to the fact that this New Moon phase corresponds with the numerological 10.10.10 or 10.10.1 Portal.
We experience a 10.10 Portal on the tenth day of the tenth month of every (western) calendar year. Ten is a number of renewal, whether that renewal is starting again or beginning anew. There’s always an element of risk involved with ten in that a choice must be made about either continuing on from where you are, going back to the start to renew/begin again, or clearing space for something entirely new to emerge.
The hardest part of making this choice is that there’s the answer or choice that you believe is in your own best self-interest and there’s the answer or choice that is in the interest of the collective whole.
Sometimes, those choices are one in the same.
Sometimes, those interests may be at odds with each other.
As the 2026 10.10 Portal hosts the 2026 Libra New Moon phase, the combined energies bring a new or renewed beginnings, especially in 1-on-1 relationships or partnerships of all kinds. Under the influence of the Libra Sun and Moon, the energy of this 10.10.10 Portal also brings the growth or expansion energy of a 3 Universal Day (1+0+1+ 0+2+0+2+6 = 12/3 OR 10 + 10 + 2+0+2+6 = 30/3). This universal day is occurring within a 2 Universal Month of intuitive and/or emotional support or balance (most often through companionship or partnership), and within a 1 Universal Year of planting seeds of new beginnings. This 3-2-1 (day-month-year) energy gives us a sense of a countdown into new or next phase(s)/chapter(s) of our individual and collective life’s journeys – a chapter dedicated to our individual/personal and collective/community growth and expansion. However, these countdowns could also represent the timing of the end to something that has long been present in your life.
This 2026 Libra New Moon reminds me of a train station – so many possible destinations, and all we have to do is choose one. Yet on a deeper level, this New Moon + Portal energy is helping us recognize how our current actions and words may be at odds with what we claim our values, morals, and ethics to be. As we experience these misalignments or blatant departures from our inner truths and knowing, we may recognize where and how we need to change course to realign our relationships with our individual selves, with other individual, and possibly even with humanity-at-large with balance, fairness, justice, and equality amongst all. We may also learn which connections in our lives have run to the end of their line. These opportunities to adjust or completely change course are available to us, though it’s ultimately up to us to choose our change of course. (Yes, even choosing not to make a choice is, in fact, a choice).
This means that any windows that open for you at this time are likely to provide opportunities for you/us/humanity to grow or expand in one or more aspects of your life’s journey. It may be tempting to make your choice to the (perceived) benefit of others or another, or for you to try to position yourself in ways which help you avoid responsibility for your individual choices and actions; but now more than ever, it’s important for you to choose for yourself first and foremost, then see who aligns with you after you make your choice. Sometimes, your personal growth is an outgrowing of a past connection that you either no longer belong to or that no longer fits into your life.
Since we’ve already discussed the numerology of this 2026 Libra New Moon’s maximum phase, here are the transits within 3° orb at the time of the maximum phase:
- (Libra Sun conjunct Moon) square Taurus Ceres (17-18°) – Claiming to be all for balance, equality, fairness, and/or justice is all talk until someone takes action to stand behind those values. The tension of the square reveals how difficult it may be to “walk the talk” of diplomacy and peace, and how people are starting to make the difficult choice to start backing up their words with action(s). Their relationships with values, morals, and ethics are shifting.
- Leo Jupiter trine Aries Vesta Retrograde (20-21°) – The greater the spotlight one finds themselves in, the more they may find themselves questioning their their self-identity… in a good way. This may empower individuals to (re)consider how they see themselves and how they want to be seen by others. Their self-identity may serve a purpose for others, but more importantly, what purpose does one’s self-identity serve for themselves?
- (Gemini Sedna Retrograde conjunct Uranus Retrograde) trine Aquarius Pluto Retrograde (2-5°) – On a collective level, humanity is beginning to understand how traumatized it actually is, has been, and may continue to be. It’s empowering more and more groups/communities of people to come together to shift the balance of power back to humanity’s favor. All of this energy is coming through retrograde bodies, so it’s important to acknowledge that this is external energy leading us to reflect upon ourselves, individually and collectively. What have we chosen to think? What have we chosen to believe? What are we choosing to communicate to others through our associations and affiliations?
- Capricorn Juno square Aries Chiron Retrograde (27-29°) – A commitment to success by societal standards may find you reflecting upon your self-identity to question if the pressure you may be putting yourself under is really necessary. Does it matter only because you think it matters to others?
- Scorpio Mercury sextile Capricorn Black Moon Lilith (12-13°) – Pay attention to your thoughts and/or your actions at this time to see what you’re willing to do in order to pursue your ambitions and achieve your goals. Don’t ignore all that you’ve kept hidden in the shadows. You don’t have to tell others unless you want to. Just make sure you’re not keeping your deepest truths secret from yourself. After all, the truth always comes out eventually.
- (Aries Saturn Retrograde conjunct Pallas Retrograde) square Capricorn Black Moon Lilith (10-13°) – Connected to the above-noted transit, you may discover that what you’re willing to do in order to pursue your ambitions and achieve your goals may challenge your relationship with your self-identity and your self-discipline. Once you are honest with yourself about the shadow side of your ambitions, you may start to see patterns in your choices and actions that reveal how those shadows may not be so hidden after all.
- Scorpio Venus Retrograde square Leo Mars (7°) – Past relationships that affected you deeply on the emotional and/or spiritual levels may be coming back into your life right now… yet don’t mistake these reconnections as fuel for your ego. If anything, they’re coming back to challenge your ego by asking you what you’ve done lately. What have you been up to? What, if anything, has changed? Have you been acting in secret to protect what you’ve been creating, or not acting at all because your creative process as stopped or been stagnant? This may be the time at which others may see and/or hold you accountable for the progress you have or haven’t made in allowing yourself to shine/be seen.
- Aries Chiron Retrograde trine Leo South Node Retrograde/sextile Aquarius North Node Retrograde (28-29°) – I’m not usually one to post on aspects to the Nodal Axis unless they complete a larger configuration, but the fact that Chiron is trine the South Node is notable in the context of previously-mentioned transits in that it reveals the connection may be stronger with the trine to the South Node (past-based karmic energies) than with the North Node (future-inclined karmic energy). Many of the self-identity wounds you may be feeling are likely due to past beliefs around letting yourself be seen by others, more so than any belief that others may not see you for all of who you are and that you won’t be able to contribute anything of meaning to the greater whole of your community or humanity. This transit serves to help you recognize that you can both overcome your past conditioning and beliefs and that being honest with yourself about yourself can help you stop dwelling in the past and start focusing on your present and possibly your future.
The 2026 Libra New Moon’s energy will be felt from 7th through 13th October 2026, with special intensity on its maximum phase day due to its correspondence with the 10.10.1 numerological portal acting as a window to now, new, and next. This is a time for you to see where you’ve been, acknowledge where you are now, consider what you really and truly want for your future, and to stand up and take (new or different) action for that desire/those desires to be realized.
Thank you for reading and sharing Signs and Numbers. Until next post…
