Capricorn is the “daddy” energy of the Zodiac. Goal-oriented, results-minded, authoritative, and disciplinarian, Capricorn energy is meant to focus and discipline us in order to help us get things accomplished in our lives.
Cancer is the “mommy” energy of the Zodiac. Emotionally nurturing, supportive, caring, and protective, Cancer energy is meant to help us feel supported in our growth and development, encouraging us to go out into the world knowing that we are loved and cared for no matter who we become in our lives.
The Moon is in exact opposition to the Sun at 8:53p PST this evening, Sunday 04 January 2014 to create the 2015 Cancer Full Moon. Here’s what you may want to know and expect about Cancer Full Moons in general and about this particular 2015 Cancer Full Moon event.
Generally speaking, the Full Moon in Cancer gives each of us an opportunity to look at what we are nurturing in our lives. The best way to explain what I mean by nurturing is to use the analogy of plants. Let’s say you have a garden. The plants you water and give sunlight to are the plants that grow. The one you deny water and light to are the ones that die away.
It’s the same things with certain elements of your life. The things you give your attention, energy, and effort to are the things that grow and expand in your life. It’s easier to bring those things to manifestation. The things you do not give your energy and effort to have much less of a chance to survive and thrive in your life.
This Cancer Full Moon energy is a prime opportunity for you to notice what you say you are committed to having or following through on in your life versus what you are actually doing and who you are being in order to have what you want to have it in your life. This Full Moon reveals what we are giving our emotional energy and effort to, what we are emotionally invested in manifesting. Are you following through on your intentions? Are you actually supporting yourself in ways that help you move toward and accomplish your goals? Are you honoring your word? Are you in integrity with what you say you want, or what you feel you want?
Cancer and Capricorn work in balance, in tandem – one is pursuing the goal while the other supports the other’s pursuit and accomplishment. So as the Moon reflects the light of the Capricorn Sun, in true Capricorn fashion, this is a matter of personal focus, discipline, responsibility, and accountability. Your actions and your results will always speak louder than your words and reveal what you are truly committed to in your life. If you haven’t gotten certain things accomplished in your life, chances are that you are not giving them enough energy or effort.
On the other hand, we sometimes hold onto things because of an emotional attachment or obligation to them. We may feel like we cannot let those people or projects down, or that we are being ungrateful or disrespectful for not following through on our goals and ambitions that they supported us so unconditionally for. Yet it may be these very obligations and attachments that hold us back from fulfilling our greatest potential and need to be released.
So during this 2015 Cancer Full Moon, you don’t only get to look at whether or not you are giving certain people or projects the attention they need, you also get to look at whether or not some of them are taking energy away from what you really need to be doing. This isn’t a bad thing – this is simply a reminder to notice what you may want to consider clearing out of your life.
One thing that makes this 2015 Cancer Full Moon interesting is that it creates a Lunar and Nodal Cardinal Grand Square-Cross with the Sun and Pluto in Capricorn, Uranus and South Node in Aries, and the North Node in Libra.
With Uranus and the South Node together in Aries, there is a strong inclination to express our individuality or to declare our independence through assertive action, possibly violence or anger. Action is one thing, but violence and anger are definitely expressions that no longer serve us well, and we are being asked to step into a more peaceful expression of ourselves and our lives through the North Node in Libra – an expression that celebrates fairness, balance, and equality. Capricorn Sun is still within conjunction with Pluto in the same sign, focused on clearing out all that is no longer helpful in accomplishing goals the to be accomplished or achieved so that the path to the fulfillment of those goals is clearer, while the Cancer Moon emotionally nurtures and encourages progress on the path to the achievement of your goal(s). In other words, there is a movement to recognize that aggressive protest has served its purpose, but now the peaceful examination, addressing, and settlement of our differences and disagreements must prevail. Those who are taking violent or anger-based actions are actually hurting themselves more than helping themselves s or their causes.
What’s also interesting is that this particular Cancer Full Moon occurs under a Capricorn 9 astro-numerological energy – an energy that is focused on accomplishing goals and bringing matters to completion. Some of you may notice that you care more than usual about setting goals and getting things done. Many of your goals for 2015 may have been set as the year changed over. Yet now, a few days into the year, you may be realizing that there are some things and people that need to be cleared out of your life before you can really get started on the fulfillment of your goals.
What are you giving your time and energy to? What are you nurturing? What are you neglecting? This Cancer Full Moon period is a great time to ask and a great time to notice what you may need to clear out so you can actually manifest the results you intend to bring into your life during 2015. Notice which “plants” you’re giving sunlight and water to – notice what you’re encouraging to thrive.
You’ll feel the effects of this Cancer Full Moon and Lunar-Nodal Grand Square energy 2nd through 6th of January 2015.
