Admin note: This is a rare second post for the week here on the Weekly Blog, as I wanted to make sure this week’s Full Moon and Sun Sign change were covered. Read, enjoy, and share! Comments on and discussions about the blog posts are always welcome! Feel free to do so by responding below, or opening a discussion on the LxS Facebook page. Thanks!
This Full Moon in Capricorn completes our planning phase for this new year of 2011. Not to be too dramatic or anything, but as of 1:21p PST on Wednesday, January 19th, you’re pretty much locked in. Hope you’ve all been thinking good thoughts, planning great plans, and getting your affairs in order because it’s only about 13 hours after the peak of the Full Moon that the Sun moves into Aquarius (at 2:20a on Thursday, January 20th) to ask you, “Okay. You’ve got your plan(s). Now, how are you going to implement it/them?”
You see. Aquarius is about “the big picture”. It’s also about acknowledgement, but on a bigger scale than just you – it’s about acknowledging collaborative efforts and endeavors. Opposite Leo energy, which has a reputation for wanting to be the center of attention all the time, Aquarian energy wants to bring attention to everything but itself – it’s about society and humanity, and as result, groups, organizations, humanitarian endeavors and activities. It’s a time when revolutions and evolutions can begin to take shape. We can already see this energy coming into play through what is happening right now in Tunisia and Sudan (as Mars has already moved into Aquarius in the last day or two, showing its flair for assertion and action).
But it’s not always entirely selfless. Aquarius is also about one’s individual expression with the intention of making a difference for the masses or with the intention of bringing the attention of the masses to something one believes it is important to bring attention to. And in this age of mass communications media being accessible at the touch of a button, big changes can happen very quickly as it doesn’t take long for words and images to travel. Aquarius energy wants to make a difference, and though it prefers to collaborate with as many others as possible, if so inclined for “the greater good”, it can and will take action on its own through individual efforts. This can be the energy of the social rebel, only in this case it’s most definitely ‘a rebel with a cause’ as Aquarius is always utilized for a reason. We’ll want to keep our eyes and ears open for individuals who want to make, and in some cases will make declarations for society and/or humanity in hopes of building a following and starting a revolution of sorts…or for opportunities for us to make such declarations for what we are committed to in our own lives.
Something else of note: Aquarius is also about technology and evolution – gadget freaks often have some strong Aquarian influence somewhere in their personal charts, and are very inclined to use their fancy tech gadgets to implement their plans and intentions. The thing is…sometimes gadgets cannot substitute for good old fashioned do-it-yourself and common sense. Newer is not always better, and no matter how we may try, technology is not going to allow or enable us to escape from personal responsibility for our words and actions. Remember – nowadays, once it’s out there, it doesn’t easily go away. And also remember that whatever you put out there is what you are using to nurture the seeds you planted in regard to your goals and ambitions for the year. Whatever you say and do, make sure you are growing and supporting whatever you chose to be creating and manifesting this year.
The planet associated with Aquarius, Uranus, brings with its influence the unexpected, and as our goals are set and ready for implementation, the opportunities which open up for us to progress toward them may not come as or how we expect them to as we move from Sun in Capricorn to Sun in Aquarius. It is important for us to keep an open mind to what comes and how it comes so we may see the potential for greatness out of it. Everything really does happen for a reason – embrace the inquiry of what that reason may be rather than focusing on the upset of why it didn’t come as you planned or wanted.
Now, maybe more than ever, we get to heed the saying “Be careful what you wish for”. Once Wednesday’s Full Moon comes in, you may be well on your way to getting it. Hope you’re ready for it. This year may be quite the ride.
Until next week…
